Ditto here, Ron... We've a mix of foggy mornings, overly bright sunshine mid part of the day and then torrential thunderstorms, not conducive to research jaunts (but if the weather holds out this afternoon, me and my camera are going to do one) or scenery building as I can't leave things to cure out on the balcony.

I look forward to the images!

That's the beauty of adding beer in cans one at a time, you can see and feel if things are going awry, and then comfort yourself if they do

I'm watching this thread develop, Ron, and every time you post some more pictures, I'm more in awe of the whole project. Just looking at them cross-braced trusses above, and how much work that goes in to one of them, I don't know if I'd have the patience, let alone the dexterity to be able to complete something like that!

Keep up the good work on this, as to be honest, I'm kind of addicted to this thread and have to keep having a check on it to see what will pop up next!

Yes, that was in the past. Now they are all being squeaky clean, crossing all the T's and dotting all the I's. Too many high profile prosecutions going on

 

There will always be that sort of thing going on everywhere even in the UK

If you are getting the local cowboys in to do the conversion, make sure you do your homework properly as there are some really dodgy building firms in country, and what some of them say and what they actually deliver at the end of the day is so wide of each other, you could park a whole fleet of buses between them (personal experience here!)

Also, keep an eye on 'foreigner tax', as some of the 'services' will try and charge you more because you are not of iberian blood... I had this when I went to try and buy a few things recently, one was the baseboard for the project that's on the bench now, and another what they tried on was a replacement of a bulb in the emergency lighting system in the apartment building; bulb cost 7.30€, they tried charging 98,30€ for travel, 'specialist labour' and other undisclosed bits...

I can't wait to see it, Ron! I was over in Manchester two weeks back, and dragged my long suffering girlfriend over to Castlefields just to go stand outside the old Hacienda and take a look round Deansgate and Central! And I was so busy gawping at the structure, I forgot to take some pictures of the area... Only a photographer would do that, eh?

This is one of them projects I'm keeping my eye on with interest, as even though I'd love to do something 'large' like this, I just wouldn't have the space for it, sadly...

I've been reading through this thread the last couple of days, and all I can say is... I've a bruised chin from every time the jaw has gaped open and smacked the desk!

That is some impressive bit of modelling, and I can't wait to see what this will look like when it's finished as I can't remember what Central and Castlefields looked like before it changed.
