  1. I had a similar issue with some motors that were a couple of years old. I got in touch with DCC Concepts and they said gears in the motors have grease on them which may have got thicker. I took the motors apart and cleaned the grease off and they all worked.
  2. The registered address for my business is my accountants address, but the business operates independently from it's own address Dave
  3. To be fair when Dave posted the payment schedule for the King when it was first announced he said the deposit was non-refundable as it was to cover the cost of the work he had done so far, so we went into it with our eyes open. Having said that, and reading what has been posted, can we still claim if we paid by credit card? Dave
  4. People who have paid the deposit had a newsletter on 16th and 23rd October Dave
  5. It says it will have a Next 18 socket on the pre-order page on the DJM web site Dave
  6. I can't see the point of sitting on the fence and hoping enough other people will risk their money so that you can pay an extra 20% for the same item if and when it is produced. I've never considered myself well off but I suppose I am lucky that I have paid off my mortgage and all my children are now in their 30s and reasonable well paid so I don't have to worry if I want to spend money on my railway. I ordered a Nelevator and paid the deposit as soon as it was announced. Mine was one of the first ones and was delivered and set up by Allan. That wasn't crowd funded although I can't see much difference in paying 50% when ordered and 50% on delviery. I'm very happy with it especially as two years later it cost twice as much. Dave
  7. Are those figures the number of individuals who have paid deposits or the number of models? I've paid the deposit for two so do I count as one or two of those figures? Dave
  8. I placed my order today. When I click on the 'My account' button it asks for my email address and password but I can't see any way of making an account in the first place. Is this an oversight or am I just missing something? Dave
  9. Thank goodness for that. It must have been bad enough for Dave when we were all picking holes in the CAD drawings without all the irrelevant c**p that has been going on on here Dave
  10. I've just seen this picture of a Tower brass O gauge King with four washout plugs in front of the band on both sides, so the N gauge one will be more accurate than the O gauge one https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tower-models.com%2Ftowermodels%2Fogauge%2Ftowerbrass%2Fbrassloco%2Fking%2Ftowerbrassedward2.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tower-models.com%2Ftowermodels%2Fogauge%2Ftowerbrass%2Fbrassloco%2Fking%2Findex.htm&docid=LqmBProk9E3g_M&tbnid=Ot_jWyZoqSJXzM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwidvoGF47jcAhWDJ1AKHVrNBOEQMwg_KAAwAA..i&w=712&h=397&bih=937&biw=1920&q=brass%20o%20gauge%20king&ved=0ahUKEwidvoGF47jcAhWDJ1AKHVrNBOEQMwg_KAAwAA&iact=mrc&uact=8
  11. Ok, I can see the reasoning and I've just found a picture of KEII from the other side and agree they are not symmetrical. They are symmetrical on the CADS though; 4 in front on the later ones and three in front on the earlier ones, so that will need to be looked at Dave
  12. King Edward II had 4 washout plugs in front of the band and three behind when I saw it at the Severn Valley in April. Dave
  13. Just one thing. The modified smokebox door is on an older version of the CAD. The washout plugs have reverted to three in front and four behind the band on the firebox Dave
  14. Sorry, I meant is the window on the cab in the CAD drawing square? It looks rectangular to me so it would only be correct for one King. Dave
  15. OK, I've had a look in my J H Russell and the safety valve bonnet is slightly higher than the cab roof on the drawing but it looks as though the capuchon on the chimney is the same height as the bonnet.. Has anyone mentioned that on the top row of washout plugs on real thing there are 4 in front of the boiler band on the firebox and three behind but on the model they are the other way round? I'm not sure I quite understand the talk of the curve towards the tender. Do you mean where the roof gets narrower and curves in starting exactly in line with the handrail behind the rear cab window? If so the lower edge of the roof after it curves back is pretty well in line with the rear of the firebox on Colonel Templar's drawing while it is a bit higher on the cad so I would tend to agree. Are the front cab windows square? Templar's drawing shows them virtually square which is correct if you look at pictures of the real thing, while Swindon drawings showed them rectangular. Dave
  16. I just think it's good that things are moving again. It really looks like it will be happening soon. I thought all the naysayers had disappeared into their lairs after the hysterical outbursts of doom and gloom when it was first announced. Dave
  17. It's nice to know things are still progressing even if it is taking longer than you thought. Let's hope the cad/cam is ok Dave
  18. so h o m o is a bad word when put before sapiens then. Nanny state gone mad
  19. I ordered a King when it was first announced in March. I hadn't received a confirmation so I asked if there was any way of checking my original order because I couldn't remember which one I'd ordered. I sent the message on 11th June and later that day Dave replied from the nthusiast@hotmail.co.uk address with details or my original order and the additional one that I added later. Dave
  20. It seems to have gone a bit quite this month. Any more news yet Dave? Dave
  21. I think you'll find quite a lot of us already have ordered one more Dave
  22. I totally agree that Kings don't look good in blue, as I said on Dave's earlier thread when he was assessing interest in an N gauge King. A4s and the old Caledonian locos are probably the only engines that I like in blue. Dave
