  1. Hi All. Recently purchased a Keyser dock tank. It ran ok for half hour or so but then stopped. Having had a look at I think the worm gear and the gear on the axle are not engaging properly. Does anyone know where I could get a spare axle gear from to replace it or even better recommend someone who could do it? It's quite an involved job which will necessitate the wheels to be removed and it's just not a job I have the skills for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. A new industrial loco I've started on. A Fleischmann chassis, Hornby Bill/Ben cut down frames, a plastic conduit boiler and wooden tanks. Also some parts from the bits box.
  3. Does anyone here know someone who is good at repairing 00 scale valve gear. Need a couple of crossheads and assemblies making including for an electrotren 0-6-0 and am having no luck anywhere.
  4. Hi John yep, it is rivarossi. The flanges aren't too bad. Should work fine on Hornby/Pecos track.
  5. That's what I'm hoping. Will hopefully get some pictures of it on a layout soon doing the biz.
  6. Found my groove now. Industrial no3 this week. This is the lovechild of an RSH and Bagnall. Using a rivarossi chassis the body has been built using laser cut parts and some brass/whitemetal detailing parts. Looks like a brute.
  7. Alan Walters, proprietor of WD models in Chesterfield and chairman of the Little midland society passed away on Thursday 8th December. A great man and great modeller. Will be sadly missed.
  8. Afternoon everyone. Bit of announcement. The Sodor appreciation society has been offered the chance to take up an empty retail unit in the pavements precinct in Chesterfield. Initially up until Christmas but hopefully longer, we will be setting up the Ffarquhar layout and a couple of other sets to display our work. We should be there most weekends from now up to Christmas except for 10/11 December when we are at the Manchester model railway exhibition. We'll be working on the layout and hopefully doing a few projects where the public can come and try their hand at modelling. Please feel free to come and have a chat, we're in the old Wards shoe shop next to the EE phone shop. Please contact us if you have any questions. We look forwards to seeing you. Sam and Richard..
