  1. Thanks for the replies chaps. Jason, that is the one I was referring to, thanks for the link.
  2. Evening, I have seen a bar chart style diagram that shows a timeline of each loco and it's livery. But I have no idea where it was.... Anyone know where it may be if it's not on here? (Or if it is on here whereabouts) Pretty sure I didn't dream it!!
  3. It was an excellent layout, nice to see a different prototype modelled. One of the team took the time to have a chat with me and pointed out many of the details. As you say the cinema foyer was great, as was the station booking hall with the ticket machines etc
  4. Very enjoyable show. Went on the Sunday, and whilst busy there always seemed to be room to view the layouts. Fleet Lane caught my eye and the level of detailing on the buildings was very impressive. (Even down to the child's ride on machine in Woolworths!)
  5. Thanks for your tuppence worth, all input is appreciated. I have decided to go for a rear high level track with a lower track in the front. The rear will run the full length and the front may well end 3/4 of the way along. I think I will try the laser etched arches from LCut. They look to be good value. It will go on the wall of my home office where the canvas is at present, the camera angle makes it look really long, but the canvas measures 6' x 4' so it fits quite nicely between the end wall and the shelves.
  6. I have recently inherited an IKEA display case. (son and heir has redecorated his room and has declared it surplus to requirements) It has great potential, as laid on it's side it will give me 1580mm interior length, 170mm depth and 330mm height. Plus when the door is closed it will keep dust at bay. I have briefly offered up a couple of lengths of flexi and it looks like I have enough depth for two tracks. What would you model? I am leaning towards urban grime on brick arches with maybe a lower level track halfway along. Perhaps the suggestion of the end of a platform at one end.

Those figures are very nice indeed
  8. These vans/wagons look bloody good to my eyes. I don't claim to be an expert on the subject, and certainly can't vouch for the accuracy of the bolt heads, strapping, hinges etc, but for the money I don't think you can go wrong. Birthday is in a week or so, might treat myself....

Quick question, the exhauster boxes of which people speak. Where are they on the loco?
  10. Thanks gents. Oh, top quality weathering by the way.
  11. That was the point I was trying to make. The ends of the van bodies aren't really corrugated, more like stamped out channels. Most I have looked at don't have the wave form that the roofing stuff has.
  12. The term 'corrugated' to describe the ends of these vans has most people picturing the popular metal roofing product. I would venture that the term 'channeled' might be more accurate. Flat steel sheet, stamped out and then folded around the ends of the van. The pics on Tower's site look pretty good to me (not an expert on vans/wagons)
  13. Swindon erecting shop in 7mm? Re. the bodyside stripe. I was under the impression that it was Duck Egg Blue. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember reading it somewhere.
  14. Hi Paul, Thanks for the reply re. the Peco points. I shall buy a couple forthwith! Gene
  15. Looking good. Have you noticed any wheel drop when running through the points?

It looks very nice indeed. Does anyone have any info as to when the bonnet ladders started to disappear?
  17. Loving the bucket hanging off the lamp iron
  18. Very nice indeed, that top pic. looks real. Amazing what real sunlight can do (and great modelling of course!)
  19. Looks very nice, I might be tempted......
  20. No,no,no,no!! Why did you post up those pictures? They look very nice indeed. So now do I wait (again), or go kitbuilding? Think I need to go and lie down in a dark room
  21. The Dapol saga rolls on and on....Yawn I was pointed in the direction on Roxey/Omega models whitemetal kits. Their Terrier and P class look nice, I might just give one a go.
  22. I remember seeing her and a Hymek (not sure which one) a few years later in Reading depot. Myself and a friend bunked in on the weekend. I'll see if I can find some pics. Unless my memory is failing me she was being painted into maroon then too.
