Cheers, I’ve managed to get a job that finishes in down decoy at 9am on Saturday so ties in nicely with getting to the show!
Hi Jim

There are 2 types of x8849 one is 26teeth thin cog is bigger than the fat one (that’s not the one ) and the other one is a thin small gear and a larger thick gear. It’s the second one I need. I have 3 of the 26 teeth ones but I need the 21 teeth version. Or a gear from another part no

Hi all
I’ve got a problem with one of my black 5 locos, the main gear has split but the part I need X8849 21 teeth but cannot get hold of one anywhere.
is there another part I can use it’s the one where the 2 gears are together and it’s the small thin 21 tooth gear that has splitthanks

I am travelling down from Manchester - Avanti is the direct route, LNW if I drove for an hour to Stafford and completed by rail.
But as things could be chaotic, could change at short notice and could be busy I think I will give it a miss - trains out of Manchester are busy enough when there is a normal service on a Saturday, and really busy at Stafford I have noticed (for Birmingham), so sensible hat on - stay home and do some tracklaying cos once I've relaid the N gauge I can allow myself to contemplate the OO branch for the Hattons Generics I've got arriving tomorrow. I've had two good shows and I have Leeds, Warley and Manchester so it's not as if I am short of exhibitions. I just hope they don't make the Warley weekend a strike one, hopefully the heads of the rail unions are all modellers and understand how important it is for us to get to Birmingham that day 😃
I’m going on Sunday if anyone wants to travel down with me. I’m driving from Preston

Hi Mark.
Thanks for the feedback. I hadn't realised it'd been so long since you've been on here. Are you still in the Blea Moor area or back at Hellifield?
The layout chugs along with bursts of intense activity - well, "intense" in a reltive way. Underbridge, tunnel, station building etc in a 3 month period. All takes time though - no point in rushing it all in a couple of weeks, getting bored and wanting to get rid of it, is there?
I’m still a mom covering from Hellifield to blea moor, down to Blackburn then over to littleborough then to hebeden bridge. The area we cover is big compared with some of the other areas that moms cover.
mid I get chance I will get some shots for you.

I have had a few problems with Hornby and the mazak Rot.
move spoken to Hornby and they have been so helpful and sorted the locos out free of charge, even when they have been over 10 years old.
the latest one was a class 31 I bought years ago on eBay, spoke to them and they have agreed to replace it. Because I bought it in working order and over time it failed

Bucks lane won’t be there unfortunately, the layout requires some TLC after it’s move. I was asked if I could bring it but it needs a bit of work to get it back to a standard I’m happy with
I should say it will be ready by the end of December beginning of January.
I should update this post more often or I might get told off
