  1. I disagree, the T3 is a good looking loco but is not in the same league as the SE&CR D Class.
  2. I was hoping they would release 15236 as part of the Class 12 batch, as this was the very last locomotive built at Ashford locomotive works.
  3. Currently on their Ebay store they have Chesham and Ashbury coaches listed. Lovely photo and a great advert for them. :)
  4. Does anybody have experience of running CDC coaches? I see they've been listing RTR Met coaches on Ebay and whilst I've bought loco bodies from CDC before I haven't purchased any coaches. Thanks in advance.
  5. Super announcement, I already have a kit built version of 65 in SE&CR livery so glad an alternative number is being offered. Amazing to think that in roughly the last 10-15yrs all the preserved SE&CR loco classes have been made available in RTR form, must be the best represented pre grouping company? Anyway I'm delighted and grateful to Rapido for making the 01 available.
  6. Thank you. Is there a book or guide that supplies this information for different wagons? I was thinking of trying to assemble a wagon rake made up of the various different designs built at Ashford and its not always easy to tell which works made which numbers / batch of a particular wagon. Being an Ashford boy it matters to me that the particular model is of a wagon actually produced at Ashford rather than elsewhere.
  7. Apologies if this has already been covered. Where would one find out which particular vans were made at Ashford rather than Pressed Steel? I would like an example that was built at Ashford for my layout.
  8. I do have the slight issue of no longer having a layout to run them on and lack the space to build one in my current home. Still one day I hope! :)
  9. Got x16 SE&CR Genesis coaches on the way. Can't wait!
  10. I think so if we haven't had an email like the sort others have recieved.
  11. I loggedin to my Hattons account to check on the status of my orders in response to the RM web discussion above. I note a number of items I have pre ordered, including the 4 packs of SE&CR and SR coaches, now say sold out on preorder. It is dissapointing when people have waited for many years only to be told they cannot now have the item a few months before its actually released. I have x16 SE&CR coaches on order and x8 SR and I really hope Hattons will fulfill this given I've had some items on preorder for almost 2years. I'm hoping no news is good news!
  12. Great announcement by Bachmann, I have got the SE&CR Grey on pre-order with Kernow.
  13. Ultimately if you don't like the final product offering from a RTR manufacturer then don't buy it.
  14. As a SE&CR enthusiast (grew up in Ashford) I summarise as follows: Nobody is 100% sure the exact shade of red the SE&CR used on its 4 wheel coaches, and in the preservation era two heritage railways (K&ESR and Bluebell) have taken educated guesses based on their investigations of coach bodies that after being stripped back revealed traces of the original SE&CR paint / lining. The Bluebell's shade is darker whereas the K&ESR's is a bit brighter. On this forum the majority opinion tended toward the Bluebell interpretation whereas I understand Hattons have gone for the K&ESR interpretation. I am not intending to reopen this old argument as I have already had my say, merely trying to help a forum member.
  15. History repeating itself and wartime grey the only colour available / cost effective? 😆
