  1. I've just noticed the Great Western Study Group's spring 2013 issue has an article including photos on USA locomotives. http://www.gwsg.org.uk/
  2. Thanks Brian. There is no author to that excellent piece but it may have been Torquay based Peter W Gray who wrote it.
  3. Now you're talking and I know someone who follows this thread who has one and he's going to the Warley show in a couple of weeks.I might bump into him.Two and two make..... Absolutely and I wish I'd quizzed my late grandma on the South Hams during the war as I know they lived in Salcombe at the time. She remembered the US army soldiers.

I'm surprised Hornby aren't charging more for the twelve spoke bogied Star as there's more metal/material needed to make them.

Anyone going to the Warley show will be glad to hear that Alan Gibson has his stand [D39] for the correct bogie wheels,he might sell out ! and Steam Swindon will be there for us to ask when we are getting Lode Star.I won't be asking Mr Kohler.

  19. I see those very nice Bachmann wagons are available in a three pack with P numbers.Would I be ok to use them with my current private owners I use post war or would I need to remove the P ? Hattons list them both as BR wagons and suitable for the big four era. So what year did they get the P ? http://www.ehattons.com/59357/Bachmann_Branchline_37_096_Pack_of_3_7_plank_Coal_trader_BR_P_numbered_wagons_weathered/StockDetail.aspx

The highly respected modeller John Cherry is poking fun at us GWR fanatics on MREmag and apparently the black five has had the wrong bogie wheels for 5 years. That's ok then.A good day. http://www.mremag.com/news/bulletin.asp
