  1. Whilst looking for good images showing the porterbrook logo on 6397, I realised that 6397 doesn't have the lower edge strips - so those that have acquired the etches - don't fit them to 6397 if that's one that you do!

The other missing link is I'm not certain if the inner end gangway - that couples to the HST coaches - is modified or partially removed. http://www.departmen...om/photo/6397-1 looks like it has been shortened and plated - can anyone provide any better images? Thanks,Mick

I work at Etches Park Depot and certainly all EMT HST barriers we work with have just standard gangway ends with drop-head buckeye and standard air pipes. But we are cheap and have no need to change them so don't bother. I think the only reason they are changed is when they are heavily refurbished/coupler mods are made and instead of removing and refitting ganways (like we do with all our 15x units) they are removed and plated over as obsolete. The gangway doors don't open and there certainly aren't any lights inside but I'm sure that if the doors were plated over it would be clearly visable from most pics, when the buckeye is used collars are taken off the buffers and they retract to make the corridor connection/rubbing plate the new buffer, this makes the gap between stock much smaller (if you didnt know). I've never noticed HST barriers having non identical ends, normally like I say the inner ends are converted to BSI/Delner/other auto coupler and the gangway taken away or both removed but someone may prove me wrong? 6392/97/99 are all EMT and as far as i'm aware identical except 6399 at Etches Park which has wasp stripes, I can try and get some pics if you want?
