  1. Well thats the deposit paid on my Rapido 44xx.  4401 in plain black with early crest. Was an 84H Wellington (Salop) loco and have many photos of her working the Wellington, Much Wenlock Craven Arms branch. Must of seen her many times. Was only 7 in 1952 but spent a lot of time watching the trains at Wellington. 4406 and 4409 were also 84H locos. Lets see how the money goes and maybe have one of them probably the one with the outside steam pipes.

  2. Hi and thank you for getting back to me re the Maunsell coaches. Am trying to source BR green version of the maroon coach. Don't know if Hornby released one. Am considering modeling a small Isle of Wight layout and I think would get away with this coach as an Isle of Wight runner! Have souced a couple of 02's. Visited and rode on the railway many years ago and it has always fascinated me. Just a small 4ft x 18in layout as I have finished (???) my branch line layout of Clun (10ft x 20in plus fiddle yard). Just waiting new pair of stronger glasses!!. Believe you started a similar Isle of Wight terminus ?

  3. Have been reading this forum for many years and this was my first ever reply. Am reasonably computer literate but need to work out how to add photos etc. Biggest problem is that so far have no photographs of the layout so need to know which is best, photos with my phone or on a camera.

Bit more about the layout. It is quite simple, 6 turnouts in all. Buildings are mostly Bachmann as is most of the goods stock although have added a few Rapido. All are weathered as are most of the locos. It is my 4th layout, but the only one I have ever finished.....well nearly. Have thought about a small layout 4 foot by 1 foot based on a Chris Nevard layout based in Suffolk but it was to be a summer project and it is now mid July and in October I shall be working my springer spaniels. Have acquired 2 Hornby J15's so better make use of them. Any help on downloading etc would be very much appreciated.

  4. Thanks for the info re the Peco points. At present have a branch line terminus depicting Clun (the only town in Shropshire never having a railway) Basically a BR(W) layout, cos that is what I was brought up on. However getting bored with it and Mutton just might give me an inspiration to model something similar based on Furzebrook on the Swanage branch....M7's, 700's and N class moguls. My first layout was based on Swanage (Knollsea) and got rid of 15 years ago. Was really into SR locos and wish I had kept some of them. Always fancied a small through station such as Mutton and have enjoyed looking at your layout pages.
