I can still remember this happening Derek and I remember being surprised how short a time elapsed before the tunnel was reopened,Those Victorians knew how to build.

Dear Derek.
It,s really nice to have these little insights into your modelling.Of all the model railways I have read about over the years it is still The Aire Valley Railway that brings back the fondest memories.

When I moved to Shipley 10 years ago I immediately recognised the Salvation Army citadel and pointed wooden church as the prototypes for your models,of so many years ago. It's great to contact the person who was my teenage hero.

Totally second the above two comments and you got me into 009 aswell. If you have not read the "older inspirational layouts" thread you should ,some nice things said about you there,I suspect there's a lot of Aire Valley fans still about.

Hi Dave.
I have just reached the stage of painting my first etched kit, (NER Class P) and the Clostermann primer tip will come in very useful, thanks for that.
There is a lot of loose talk on RMWEB about things being inspirational, but let me say this Dean Goods model is inspirational.
In the unlikely event that I ever mature into a proper modeller and produce a model as good as this, I will die a contented and happy man.
You have every right to be pleased with this model it is truly beautiful.
