  1. There's been a change to the original plan, after seeing an article on the web, which i can't find now. Opp's will be similar to the video, with an added chemical plant which will receive a tank car https://www.google.com/maps/@42.0073891,-87.9553783,260m/data=!3m1!1e3 Track laid and wired up, ballasted and weathering started, next up buildings ,which are all brick built in the area, should go quickly.
  2. more info below https://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/event/24146-FurnessModelRailwayClub_Exhibition
  3. I can see there's not going to be a winner here, we've all done our research and testing to see what works best, but i'll leave this here, a layout i operate on with two strips of led tape between 18-20" above the track https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxfTDQxLU6gd6TlhxIh8SbZf6Gah7DXheH
  4. Sorry can't agree here, a simple frame with led light tapes (the cost of a new coach maybe) isn't going to break the bank, but they all shill out for £200+ locos etc which you can hardly see, just think more needs to go into planning.
  5. a little read up https://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/23508.aspx#:~:text=Another problem with the Mike that was brought, the tender or locomotive to derail on curves.
  6. Enjoyed my weekend exhibition at Stafford, (all be it with a bout of IBS), well done to the exhibition team. It always puzzles me, why people/groups go to the extent of building an exhibition layout, but don't seem to consider lighting there layouts, the lighting was not the best in the halls and some of the layouts were hard to see the work done.
  7. All packed up ready for the off, checked weather forecast no snow all weekend, so omitted the snowshoes, see you all later.
  8. hope everything goes well, sadly won't be able to make it, already booked to help a friend at another exhibition.

  18. 3 way switches were a big expense to railroads, space in the rural area was not a problem, unlike some of the urban areas, so they'd probably use two switches instead, just saying. it's your railroad you can do as you like!
  19. if you can live with the inaccuracies, they don't scrub up to bad
