Just reset it back to factory settings by setting CV8 to 8 and it should work fine on address 3, then have another go at re addressing it

    Richard

Tried it no joy :(might take a trip back to perth to see them and see if it can be fixed.when going to change the addresses the short address already has a 3 digit number assigned to it ????

  3. Hi all I bought a legomanbiffo sound chip at the perth show today and have just installed it but when I read the decoder on the programme track I get different decoder version numbers etc and random address numbers when trying to set the address and no movement from the loco at all.loco works fine with a standard 8 pin chip installed.help please.

  4. Bit late to the party, but I found it amusing when I went and clicked on the Facebook link for the post on Tony’s article, that I can’t see it.

I remembered the reason behind that was I got removed and blocked from the “British Railway Modelling” Facebook page because I spoke my opinions on a few matters, to which people didn’t like and I was removed. HA!

Sorry, I’m just sitting here having a giggle.

I got removed for telling someone they never got the bargain they thought they did with a loco purchase.i was told I was a bully and picking on a newbie :scratchhead:  :scratchhead:  :scratchhead:

  5. So why don't they supply them with Gaugemaster decoders? Somewhat annoyed now.....quiet likely it was the decoder from Hattons that was the issue with my last one. Why aren't they actively advocating ones that work, rather than supplying there own......

I thought the same but I ordered online and there not going to question my choices even though it's obvious what the decoders were for.hope you get a favourable outcome mate
  6. That's the question..... I have seen one run well on DCC. The loco in question belong to Geoff Taylor and he fitted a Bachmann decoder, didn't alter the CVs and it seems to run very happily.

So there are good ones out there.

I bought Hattons own 6 pin decoders I wonder if a different decoder might help???

  7. Exactly what mine did (If you look at the video from a few days ago I posted). Mine had the CVs and decoder fitted by Hattons themselves and still ran like crap!

You have have my sympathies. I've never known a modern loco have so many issues.....

I'm gutted now do I chance replacements or just get a refund.

  8. Took delivery of a 48xx and 58xx today and both are poor runners.stop start and speeding up for no reason.i have set the cvs to what hattons recommend with no joy.they are currently running on rolling road in the hope things improve as I really want these locos to run on my layout.
