Thanks for adding this one Dave, It shows a Peak at St Boswells with Station Master George Mitchell closing the carriage door and my father Alec Burrell behind him, The train would be the 10.5am Edinburgh Waverley to London St Pancras and the BRCW Type 2/Class 26 on the 09.20 Carlisle to Edinburgh Waverley.

Hi all,
I attach a couple of shots taken at St Boswells c1950s early 60s of The Royal Train with 2 Class 5s 45476 leading and the on the up loop with the The Royal Coaching Stock stabled on the down side sidings.
Obliged if anyone can help with the exact date of this working and also the number of the second Locomotive?
I hope they are of interest.
Regards David
Further to my request for information on the Royal Train at St Boswells, Bruce has kindly given me details of a Special Train working 1X00 on Thursday 5th July 1962 to Coldstream and forward to Kings Cross. One box ticked thanks Bruce.

Just a add on to this Photo of A3 60101 Cicero at Hawick, at sometime in the early Sixties I believe it was stored at St Boswells along with sister A3 60100 Spearmint. How long they resided here is also unknown unless someone has further info on the subject.A3 60101 Cicero, a less common face at Hawick:

Hi all,
I realise this is the same train as a negative I purchased a number of years ago and I originally had on Fotpoc but had it with the wrong location, this train bugs me a bit as I did not recognise the location as St Boswells of the other photo of this train when asked by Bruce.

Having passed through St Boswells, this is on the single track section to Kelso, originally double track but later lifted.

Hi Matt,
Regarding this Photo of V2 60836 approaching Riccarton Junction, a very similar photo possibly taken approx same time is shown in the Book 'Waverley' Portait of a Famous Route by Roger Sivitar and the book photo is credited to David E Gouldthorpe.

As promised also, here is the same train in colour but photo not that sharp approachig Millerhill on the 3rd September 1966. A mix of stock incliuding 2 Mark2s in the then fairly new Blue/White livery.

Hi Matt,Did you rescan this one David? I seem to recall it being a lot darker previously, this one now showing much more detail.
Top shot by the way!
Yes is the answer to your question, I now have a new scanner since I had the Collection on Fotopic so I will add a few more that might be of interest.
Thanks for your kind comments.
Regards David
PS V2 60836 now scanned and will add link shortly

Hi Matt,There don't appear to be many photos of the tour rake unfortunately. I've got a photo of 60836 heading over Riccarton Culvert on the approach to the junction, somewhere - it was on the WRHA web server but I seem to have misplaced it! (will keep looking).
In the meantime here's one which doesn't give much away re stock utilised, the following day (4/9/66) as 60024 Kingfisher took the first return leg south from Aberdeen to Edinburgh Waverley.

There can be no doubt whatsoever about what D19's working here at the Citadel:
Further to Chard's link to photo of D19 at Carlisle, Please see link below of D19 at St Boswells c1961 on the down Waverlley.
however, on this shot it is not carrying the 'Waverley' headboard.
I hope you will find this photo useful.

Great to see you on here David! It seems an age ago I popped down to see you & completely fill the car with the layout, perhaps 5 years ago??
You'll probably see more of your photos linked as we seem to have been right through Flickr and most of the other photo sites.
Thanks Matt,
I have added a couple of Diesels today at St Boswells of course.
Regards David -
Thanks I added the B1 at St Boswells yesterday and also joined this Forum, as I am from the Borders originaly and known to both Bruce and Matt. Hopefully I can help with some info around St Boswells. I started working Galashiels Goods Office in 1961 and left BR Employment from St Boswells Booking Office in 1967. My father was the guard on the last passenger train on the Tweed Valley Line St Boswells - Tweedmouth in 1964.

I have a copy of this Photo myself, it is copyright N E Stead and it is one of a number I purchased many years ago from Bill Peacock @ The Hawick and District Railway Modelling Society. They had a list at that time you could order from.
