Would I be correct in stating this is the ONLY British N outline steam new tooling on the radar at the moment or have I missed something from someone?
LNER/Eastern Region isn't my area but I have ordered and will run it as a fictitious preservation item and to support Sonic as the 56XX is very good indeed and I'm sure the J50 is going to be equally good.

I think I ordered one of these but cant find any confirmation emails and cant see anything on my Dapol account - Any ideas how to check if ordered as dont want to miss out! My previous experiences of emailing Dapol resulted in no response and deadline is looming TIA
Hi
If you have a Dapol Account it should be under "My Orders" as per below. Once you click on that it should list all your pre-orders. And if you look across to the right there's a symbol of a page with a magnifying glass on it - if you click that it brings up the actual order page similar to what was probably e-mailed to you at the time of order.
Hope this helps

Hi All
If you are thinking of ordering one of these Dapol has posted on their Facebook page and their website that the decorated samples have arrived and the Pre-Order book closes on the 31st Jan - aka this Friday!
Cheers

Got my tankers this week and have to say they are excellent! The detail is exquisite and there's a weighty and assured quality about them.
Well done Gents - you should be proud of this product!
Thanks again for a stunning product.

Hi Ben
Great to see these excellent looking wagons arriving so soon after they were first announced. At the time there was the possibility of the Class A tankers being produced if the B was successful - is this still the case?
Congratulations again on a well managed and delivered project/product.
Thanks & Regards

Hi
I have to concur with this. I've just been through the DJM websites list of stockists (all the one's where websites are quoted anyway) and the only one I could find that has them listed but without a price is Invicta Model Rail. It does let you order them too. Order accepted but everything charged at £0.00 at present complete with e-mailed confirmation.
I looked at the websites of 22 other listed stockists but there was no reference to any DJM wagons and many didn't even mention DJM at all. I assume you have to make a telephone or e-mail enquiry for these and any that don't run a website.
Dave - Is there a deadline by which you are going to count up the pre-orders and make a commitment to the factory?
Amusingly though, on Gaugemaster's website if you search on Mermaid you do literally get model mermaids!
Hope that helps someone.

Hi Dave
As someone who obviously has a good handle on the model railway market perhaps you could enlighten me? Having looked enviously at the forthcoming O Gauge Heljan Falcon I wondered what your views were about the economic viability of producing it in N? (Yes I model N and want one...in blue.....and one in green! Could never make up my mind!)
Is it viable in O because the market is bigger than N or the profit margins better because people are prepared to pay significantly more or is it a bit of both? The success of O never ceases to amaze me, especially for prototypes such as Falcon which, some would say, already had a limited number of admirers and/or modelling eras/regions.
Apologies if the relativities of the O and N gauge markets have been discussed before!
Thanks

How about some new "super creep" chassis to fit the Dapol N 14XX, 45XX & M7? - the bodies were great but let down by the chassis both in looks and performance.
Otherwise best of luck with whatever you produce - it all helps the hobby really.

For those who are interested there are some pictures of the Class 33 mouldings on mremag.

Mouldings look crisp and promising!

FYI - EPs of the new 25 on the Bachmann website.

Got here a bit quicker than I expected - probably only a few years away now!

That's a "Yes" for me!
And I'd also like to say thanks not only to Daveand his patient collaborative approach but also to the individuals who contributed their valuable expertise and time to getting it to this stage. It was also good to see that no one really lost their cool on it either!

Hi Flood
Your repaint looks very impressive! Was this a total repaint or just judicious weathering etc? I, personally, am not totally convinced that the Dapol "BR Blue" looks right (someone else mentions this elsewhere on this thread) and will probably re-paint my N Gauge Dapol BR blue locos etc but am interested in the easiest route to achieving my own view of realism.
PS - I'm not opening up the "What is standard BR Blue?" debate again. I appreciate that it was different works to works etc etc. I just find the Bachmann rendition better from my point of view.
Look forward to buying this in N eventually!
Thanks
Tony

Does the OO version have the correct grill arrangement? If so, and assuming the same CAD drawings are used as a starting point for the N version, then I'd hope that no new errors were "drawn" in. No-one would be that daft......would they?

FYI - A further update from Rapido's Facebook page says -
"Our class 28 model has been put to the test over the last few days to see how good it really is.
The results have been good and we will now send our feedback to the factory for them to make some final tweaks.
We will soon announce the orderbook deadline with the aim of getting these into production as soon as we can for delivery later this year"
