  1. These large scale garden railways can be quite convincing. steve
  2. Beyond Paradise, Friday 22nd. That was the South Devon Railway I assume? steve
  3. Promising start. Will you be putting up the catenary for that loco? steve
  4. Thanks @Keith Addenbrooke that’s everything I wanted to know. steve
  5. Could someone please enlighten me as to the identity of this loco, both prototype and model manufacturer? (The black one.) Thanks steve
  6. Does the writer of the original piece also do the lottery? They were pretty accurate in their predictions in that article. steve
  7. Possible Bachmann Collectors Club limited edition? steve
  8. Looking at the release closely, this is more than just a new van; it’s a major step forward for Bachmann. Different chassis, wheels and buffers for specific versions, not just one of each and including Instanter couplings? This is revolutionary stuff. Will they be offering 3 packs with different numbers too? Someone at the company has been studying the ‘opposition’. Will the Red Team go the same way I wonder! steve
  9. A very welcome release. Wonder if they’ve pulled a flanker on Rapido or Accurascale? steve
  10. Tea breaks in the backstreets of Hull… steve
  11. At Mansfield, for an experiment, I ran the layout backdated by about 5 years by running all steam, bar the Model 40 switcher. It all worked really well, switching with big tender locos and running 0-6-0 tanks on PW and ore jennies. May well go 50:50 mix of propulsion next time! steve
  12. Blimey! That’s quick. I only suggested it on 26th January… steve
  13. Sorting stock suitable for the 1950s period and weathering the rest but concentrating mainly on a Scottish EM project. The layout is booked for Bridlington show on September, running as BR Blue. steve
  14. Closed signal box, Millicent Street. steve
  15. Can Kadees be fitted to TT120 stock? (Can’t find an answer anywhere.) Thanks steve
  16. I’m somehow not convinced by that livery version. It looks too contrived to me. steve
  17. Agreed. I chopped them off and made a body mount if I was keeping the trucks or, more usually, dumped the trucks entirely and fitted a body mount for a Kadee. Some cheap (& nasty) locos had truck mounted couplers but these were best avoided completely anyway. steve
  18. Could it be slop in the rods, causing them to touch something? This is pure speculation, not knowledge by the way. steve
  19. Anyone with small children who has watched the cartoon series Marsha And The Bear will recognise the loco! steve
  20. Thanks Jerry. At the moment, I will be at Bridlington in September and Selby in November. steve
