  1. Hi,

Does anyone have any spare advance tickets for the Didcot Castle Day on 4th March that they would be willing to sell?

    If so please PM me.

    Cheers,

    Daniel

  2. Evening people!

I see that Tootally Thomas has another batch of 95 Skarloeys on the way. If any of these purchasers are interested in the lining decals, I will be printing some more subject to demand, in red, black and green liveries. Please either post here, PM me or contact me via my website.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

  3. Without ploughing through all the posts, is the Loco sold in the UK? and what is the running like etc. I can get one ordered in the States if they are available, but would prefer to buy here if possible, (I am fully up on the licensing issues, which are about as insane as you can get).

    Stephen.

They run very well! Well worth the money.

  4. I agree on the NGRM login. It is a bit of a pain, but well worth signing up in you are an NG modeller.

I'm interested that you most of the TR locos were measured up. Does this mean we'll be seeing more such aa Edward Thomas and Douglas added to the range? I might have to build a TR layout to house them all!

Do you know if they measured the rolling stock as well? Some RTR TR coaches would go down nicely.

  5. Now you tell me!  :O

For future reference, will you be doing green ones for Dolgoch in due course?  I'm aiming for a full fleet (changing Tom ROLT for a different No. 7 because I find the loco ugly despite what it represents) of 1980s green locos.

If you're looking for ideas on a Tom Rolt replacement there is a thread over on NGRM about a Talyllyn might-have-been build of a Hunslet 'Eva' class. Looks very nice to my eyes!

Sorry! I've only just had them printed! :) But yes, hopefully I will be doing ones for the Bachmann Rheneas when it is released. I will try to do all the liveries so green will he included in that.

  7. .

How easy are the original smokebox and cylinders to take off ?

They are both fairly easy to remove. The smokebox has a small plastic tab on the right hand side clipping it in place, so it you push a small screwdriver between the face and loco on the right hand side it should pop straight off. The cylinders are held on by two screws on the underside of the loco and come off if you undo these screws.

  8. Does anyone know if anywhere in the UK has these in stock at the moment? Tootally Thomas and The Diesel Works are the two that I know of but they are both out of stock. Tootally Thomas claims to have more coming in which should have arrived by now. I can't get through to either by phone or email. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Daniel

  9. Just stumbled on this topic! It looks fantastic Especially seeing as I am a Talyllyn Railway fan.

I'm going to order one from one of the UK shops, but before I do, has anyone started modifying one yet to represent the real Talyllyn loco? My intention is to remove the face, replace it with a smokebox door and repaint it into the current TR livery, maybe adding a few extra details along the way. The other thing I was wondering is if it is possible to do something about the cab backplate? At the very least drilling some holes through to represent windows would be a start. Presumably it would be too difficult to cut it out altogether?

    Thanks in advance!
