    Green ones look good! I think we'll be lucky to see them this year if their waiting for a second set of deco samples to sign off? Still I'm happy to wait. I remember talking to the Dapol rep at Ally Pally who scoffed at me when I said end of 2013-in reply to his comment about them being available in 2012!

    Yep, I've got this too. It is a big increase, but the original price was silly. So I'll be sticking with this one.

    Simple answer. Yes. Because Hornby's brand is much stronger. (for the hifi modeler I suspect it will be more important which livery/version is produced. With so many combinations, there will only be partial overlap?

    I asked Hornby about replacement interiors for my existing blue and NSE units: "We regret that, at present, there are no plans to produce the corridor interiors for retro-fitting. We have discussed this with our Engineering Department, and they have indicated that the part has not been ordered as a spare". With the B&G MBS having the wrong interior and undeframe (using up parts?) I don't think we will see the VEP again, so get them whilst you can.

    I'm thinking (a complete guess) that it will be May -July before they are here. Just going on the timeline that Bachmann, typically, have between deco samples and stock availability. I'm baffled that Dapol were saying end of 14, when they didn't even have blank samples till November. Still we just have to wait.....

    The 2nd class curtains were long gone before NSE. From memory, I think it was 80 or 81, I remember that the VEGs retained them.

    So with the announcement of the green with FYE, that is all the liverys covered? And although I've got three on order, I'll also be buying all the Hornby versions as well. Complete guess, but I think the DJ will be display and the Hornbys for running.

    Had mine out for a quick run today! Very smooth, right down to a slow speed (motor sounds similar to D.O.G.) VERY impressed. Build quality/paintwork is really good. Defo looks like "Refined" getting into gear now. Even comes with cylinder drain cock pipes and front steps. It's a CRAKER! Usual 100% efficient service from Hattons! Looks like Hornby are BACK to me....

    Dave I've ordered one so far, another tomorrow, but then I'll have to wait for September pay (end of)! As I want three. If there selling really strongly, can you give us all notice when your down to the last one or two hundred, so we all have a chance to put final orders in, please. I cant afford all three at once! (I want Green NYP, Green SYP and Blue LYP)
