  1. Back in the Leicestershire hinterlands after a thunderingly good weekend at Nailsea with the boss lady. A jolly fine show, good to see some of the chaps and good to meet Captain K and Wiggo, 2 absolute gentlemen unlike some of the other rabble............also chuffed that His Sheepness got 'best layout in show'- one up for the small layout builders (although as you can see from Chris' pics, I have some way to go before I can aspire to such greatness!)..... For those that didn't get there, well there's always next year! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  2. Well if he did he didn't have a look at Top Yard, unless he did when Clive was playing on it! Miserable get! A great weekend, well done to all involved in the organising. Despite the parking tribulations, all went relatively smoothly. Top Yard is starting to grow on me, and seemed to appeal to a few people, especially the fellah who described the scenery as 'Gravettesque'! I will take that as a complement, though Gordon and Maggie may beg to differ! So onwards and upwards then! Well done everybody, you've all done very well! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  3. Well Mike, you only have to ask!............I'm sure we could fit you in. Disgusting of Harket Marborough
  4. Its very quiet on here....Are we to expect a dramatic announcement, a la some of the new producers, shortly? Disgusting of Market Harborough
  5. Count me in that happy band too! All couplings have their plus and minus points, its simple a question of personal perference (apart from the apocryphal 2mm finescale bod who tried 3 links, who basically is just certifiable!)... They certainly do Stu, I've got a couple. The mark I and the mark II versions. And if you're worrying about having too much wagonry with you at Ally Pally worry no longer....we can find a home for it!! Disgusting of Marketr Harborough
  6. You've obviously seen my trackbuilding Les!. As Paul Wade once said 'Dave models in all the popular 4mm gauges, OO, P4 and EM, usually all on the same layout!' Disgusting of Market Harborough
  7. Bit concerned to see on UK model shops listings that there is a OO9 layout called Bleat at Nailsea. Is there something you need to tell us sheepmeister? 🤣 Disgusting of Market Harborough PS I also see that Lydbroook Dean will be there too according to the blurb........
  8. Had the very great pleasure of finally seeing this today (no Phots sadly as I didn't really get the time) and the highest complements I can give it is that, a) its up to Stus very high standards and b) its better than the layout that sort of inspired it.. Sound work my friend! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  9. isn't that a chinese tool for tightening up IKEA purchases.......................... I'll get me coat Disgusting of Market Harborough
  10. Shocked and saddened to hear this news, having attended a few Fareham shows with my train sets and with Cath doing the work of Book Law! A very affable sort of chap who was happy to cover for me when I needed a break. He even looked like he was enjoying it on odd occasions! Our (Cath and Myself) deepest sympathies go out to his family and those at Fareham MRC. Saddened of Market Harborough
  11. I thought Kleftico was one of those Amurcan TV cop dramas from the 70s? What do I know? Belated HNY Y'all Disgusting of Market Harborough
  12. Has anyone got any big ladies in young jumpers? Asking for a friend......... Disgusting of Market Harborough
  13. Happens to me all the time!!🤣🤣 Disgusting of Market Harborough
  14. Another small layout that you may find interesting is Trevanna Dries, now in the tender hands of Wayne Crowley but the original was built by yours truly. Not sure of the actual address but if you put Trevanna Dries into the RM Web search engine you should find something..... Disgusting of Market Harborough
  15. It was mate. I got a Hornby Coke wagon for a poorly octopus and an assortment of P4 points (including a double slip) all made by Ray Hodson and all for the princely sum of 2 of your earth pounds............ There were some good train sets too!! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  16. For a small large fee, I can give you the griff.......... Disgusting of Market Harborough PS the weather wasn't too bad, bit moist but hey........
  17. Stu Davies (Lapford 34102) and myself once considered doing Thomas the Tank Engines Terminus (Knapford was it? I can't remember) in EM just to hack some of the rivet counters off a little while back! As daft as it may sound, using the Rev W Awdrys books as a research source isn't such a bad thing. Anybody who has seen Tom Fosters work will know just how good it can be....Just a thought! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  18. So am I, I was hoping to purvey some quality railway literature to you at a keen price🤣. Seriously, the Book Law team had a good day amid some excellent trade and quality layouts. I was particularly taken by the Irish O gauge, although it was nice to see the old stagers of Hepton Brook and Lee on the Solent again ( although my suggestion that a Class 73 and a couple of VEA vans would look nice on Lee was met with some stony stares!). I also liked Chairman Dave's inglenook shunting plank, which he evidently cobbled together very quickly (any photos of it chaps?) which looked very effective with a weathered B4 and a handful of wagons. It was also pleasing to see that there was always some young person happily shunting away on there when I walked past. Other clubs may wish to take note- if we're going to attract youngsters into the hobby, belting Thomas round a track is fine and dandy for the under 5s but those slightly older require something more absorbing to attract them in, and this inglenook seemed to be doing just that! Just my thoughts on a very good day. Well done chaps and chappesses! Disgusting of Market Harborough PS Picked up the bargains of the day from the second hand stall. A Hornby coke wagon for a poorly octopus (£6) and a handful of p4 points, including a double slip, for the princely sum of £2!!
  19. Jon Just a thought but did anybody think to email Radio 2's Jeremy Vine? Having heard his recent-ish interviews with Rod Stewart and Jools Holland, and the dynamic duo of messrs Ando and (s)Hale, he sounds like he has an itch that could be scratched successfully vis a vis railway modelling. I believe he lives in the Barnes area, which would make this about his nearest show being just a bike ride across Richmond Park. As I say, just a thought.......maybe a celeb to open the show in the future? Disgusting of Market Harborough
  20. Loving the heather round the Thurso branch. Is this the work of that Spike chap and was it done in the same way as the gorse? Disgusting of Market Harborough
  21. So there I was, thumbing my way through BRM and I thought 'Can it get any worse than this'...........then I turned the page and saw the beaming countenance of young Chris......... Seriously though, good article mate. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  22. If thats untidy, I'd love to see your idea of tidy mate! Great work all round! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  23. Did anything move on BGP? Every time i've seen it, its been a somewhat magnificently modelled diorama! Including one of its last showings at Taunton many moons ago when I was opposite with 'Jubilee Sidings', I had more than one person come over and say that it was good to see something moving which, bearing in mind what my layouts are like, I found a bit ironic!! Disgusting of Market Harborough
