Volume 6 of this series is now being advertised on the Crecy site:
https://www.crecy.co.uk/the-acquired-wagons-of-british-railways-volume-6
It is stated as covering an eclectic mix including pre-1923 minerals and some specialist wagons such as roadstone and glass wagons. Really looking forward to this one.
Simon
That’s great news. Another welcome addition to a fantastic range of books

Any chance of an internal view guys? I recall seeing that wonderful internal planking detail in the EP was what made me give up on my Slater kit built ones😀

Would love a “what if” livery of early BR crest for this loco

Just read the latest Hornby magazine on line (Feb) and it seems strange without the familiar Hattons ad ☹️.
Just like to add, as everyone else has, that as a modeller based in New Zealand for the last 50 years that Hattons have been the go to shop for us antipodeans during all that time.
It’s a unpleasant feeling when something that has been part of your life for so long is suddenly not there anymore.
I am reminded of when Mainly Trains and Eileen’s Emporium both closed.

A Lowmac would be an excellent choice and saves me trying to improve the underframe of my old Airfix example

How’s the boat going Corb’s? 😀.
I feel we need some Manor like fervour on this thread too.

I have been very slowly buying my D&S stash via eBay over the years, would love to have a more reliable supply for this magnificent range

How about some LMS wagons?
The following would go down well IMHO and save me some scratchbuilding:
Dia 1927 Medium goods -10,100 built
Dia 1954 and 2095 Ballast wagon - 3000+ built
Dia 1888 Sand wagon - 100 built
-
Would love to see one in Crimson and Cream. I ended up repainting my LMS maroon one into this livery some years ago and it looks very fetching IMHO😀

Any sign of this yet, given we are in July now ?

Does anyone know how these are coming along?

Looks good! Have you got a reference number for the style you ordered ?
No. Looks like I ordered the Sans Serif B style.
the website is very good as it shows you exactly what your chosen wording will look like on the plate

Hi Mark,
How long did they take to arrive, from order to delivery ?
Rob
Looks like I ordered them in the 2nd week of January. They arrived here in New Zealand last Monday. So about 16 weeks for me but they have come an awfully long way😀

For those already wondering what the first title will be, following on with the Irwell series of books under the Strathwood banner, we are happy to announce that the final volume in the Joy of Jinties series will go off for printing in a few days. Everything will be in the same, size and quality formats as we continue with more titles in the long-established Irwell series of books. Not only do I want them to match on my own bookshelves at home, but we are sure everyone else will want them to do so as well, so never fear.
Richard Derry who has been the lead author on many titles in the Book of series has set to work on completing a volume on the British Railways Standard Class 4MT 2-6-4Ts, likewise we are well advanced with a follow-on series to the Joy of Jinties focusing on the Fowler Class 4F 0-6-0s.
The final part in the Main Line to the South series is almost ready for print as well taking us on our journey to Weymouth.
The next title in the Celebration of series following on from the latest dealing with the Class 9Fs, will be with us in time for dare I say it already Christmas... dealing with Castles.
Meanwhile, yours truly will resume the completion of a six-volume series dealing with Western Region hydraulics in colour, along with a massive tome on Class 52 Westerns which has had to be stalled for few months. In between a host of other titles looking at various other topics in colour as well as further Steam's Lament titles. It's going to be a busy summer...
Kevin
Great to hear you will be carrying on the great work Kevin.
Hopefully you have a book of the Manors in the wings too😀

Very much looking forward to a re-run of these guys. I was late to the party on these and subsequently have been taking my chances so far on eBay😀
