  1. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 One of these days we'll get a decent RTR Class 06, won't we Accurascale? Steve
  2. Inverurie had a similar layout until the line was recently "double-tracked". The lines through the station where bi-directionally signalled by semaphores controlled by the local signal box. Passenger trains would utilise the Down platform unless two passenger trains were crossing. Dyce would also follow a similar pattern, but my impression was that the platform selection was a bit more random! Perhaps it was a form of amusement for the signalman? Steve
  3. I've seen many comments over the years stating that magazine reviewers are afraid to be honest, as negative comments may result in advertising being pulled with an inevitable impact on revenue. It was great to see AY calling out areas that aren't great with this model in the latest BRM, as well as summing up by stating "I think it a shame it's not a little better". For me that's exactly where we are with the HJ 47, especially at this price point.
  4. Presumably cab lights on DC will remain on while the loco is moving and off when stationary i.e. totally the opposite of prototypical practice. I suspect IOW O2 you would be very much in the minority of wanting this "feature". What on earth were Bachmann thinking when they introduced this option 😏
  5. Oh no, you had to remind me of my long desired Highland Class 24, so cruelly teased in late 2017 when I placed my pre-order. I just hope I last long enough to receive it, something that is becoming less likely as each year ticks by. 🥺 Steve
  6. I too have been a fan of Legomanbiffo's superb sound files for many years. However I really enjoy the factory fitted speaker and sound installations in the Accurascale 55s and 37s. Variety is the spice of life they say, which is something I think also applies to sound files. Steve
  7. Ahh, then they clearly are in the wrong section of the website! Steve
  8. A couple of additions to the free ESU sound file catalogue that I've missed until now are for the Revolution Trains Class 59 and the Cavalex Class 56. If you also missed them, they are listed here LokSound 5 factory equipped sounds Steve
  9. There has been 13 issues per year for a while now, with the Spring edition being published between the March and April copies. Steve

    DCC Sound

I agree. I remap all my decoders the same way, with F0 & F1 being lights and engine sound as is the UK "norm". Then comes the horns on F2/F3. The next 7 functions all relate to "driving" of the model. From F10 to F21 I have various sound options, with the most useful being first e.g. flange squeal, whistle, doors closing. Then I map out the lighting options and finally any other options I'll probably never use. My answer to Chris is that there is no real standard, with each sound provider possibly having their own standard. The secret for me is to remap all sounds to my standard, which then increases my enjoyment when it comes to operation of my layout. Steve

    DCC Sound

Chris, when I first read your post I wasn't sure how to answer. When you say "manufacturer" are you asking about the model manufacturer for sound fitted locos off the shelf. Or are you talking about the different sound decoder manufacturers? Or are you asking about the different makers and distributors of sound files that you can reblow a decoder with? Steve
  12. I was simply letting the OP know that troubling the directors of Accurascale, who are very generous with their time by answering questions here, really shouldn't be the first port of call for the "has my order shipped yet" type questions. If someone has doubts that there order has somehow gotten lost or has been missed, then they should get in touch with support and not just post their questions here. We're kind of saying the same thing. I agree, patience is what is required more than anything! Steve
  13. Why not ask the Accurascale online support, surely that's what it is there for? Then you can give them your order number, which will ensure you receive some personalised customer service. Steve
  14. Thanks for posting, I'll spend some time comparing with my settings to see if you've uncovered any little nuggets. I thought I'd mention that you do have the ability to move and delete lines of info, seeing as you don't have them naturally running from F0 to F31. I have to keep mine in sequence! The magic buttons to move things around is carefully tucked away in the top left of the screen. Highlight the row and use the up/down or delete buttons : Of course there's no need to move anything, as it won't make any physical difference with the decoder functionality. It does make things easier to find though. Steve
  15. Charlie and Bif (DCKits) have delivered a solution for the Accurascale models, is anyone wants a different sound file.
  16. Yes please, I'll take one. It might just go nuclear 😎 Steve
  17. @Bloodnok As you have some lighting functions that are working, my guess is that your issue is nothing to do with AUX13 (which is what seems to have triggered you to post) as SRman stated that by removing AUX13 from the function mapping it stopped all lights from working. I have no detailed knowledge of Zimo decoders and how their mapping works, so perhaps a post in the DCC section might bring you into contact with someone that has successfully fitted a Zimo decoder to the AS 37 and/or 92? I also suggest keeping the correspondence going with AS support, as has been mentioned many times before on this thread to other users having issues with a model. As E100 states above, new models are stretching the capability of decoders to the limit. I have an SLW "Scottish" 24 on pre-order and I would be pleasently surprised if I could take out the OEM supplied Zimo decoder, throw in an ESU one and have everything work the same! Accurascale have even gone the extra mile and provide a very cost effective "plug n' play" solution by offering both LokPilot and LokSound pre-configured decoders for sale on their website. Good luck! Steve
  18. Fantastic, this isn't a support thread. Sorry, I've no idea what that means. Perhaps it doesn't matter. Go on, give us more to work with. What specifically doesn't work with the Zimo decoders? Steve
  19. Did he actually say this, as that wasn't my impression? Please feel free to quote from Bloodnok's post to support your statement!
  20. It works straight out of the box. Don't be "concerned" 😉😂😂 Steve
  21. And a not so fast or beautiful Co-Bo hiding in the APT's shadows? Steve
  22. Then the truth arrives: The post from AS was totally in line with what I thought it would be. Why do some modellers come on here and spout what amounts at best to be exaggerations, the kind of which can do damage to a business trying its best for all of us modellers. I simply don't understand! Steve
  23. Not only that but iTunes then converted the file format into something else. A long time ago I thought "OK I'll give this iPod thing a go", so I converted all my LPs and tapes into mp3 and then uploaded them onto an iPod. As disc space was a premium on my laptop, I never kept a copy of the many thousands of converted tracks. A year or so later Creative introduced a great little MP3 player. I got one and thought I would be able to get MY mp3s back off the iPod and then put them on the Creative Player, oh no Apple decided that the process would be one way only! I couldn't recover them, end of. At that point I realised that it was a fundamental Apple core concept that they wanted to trap the user and never let them leave. I stuck up two fingers to Apple and have never been back. Not once have I regretted that decision. Apple products still drive me mad when I'm forced to use them at work. Apple is an American invention and an American obsession. I'm happy to leave it over there! Steve
  24. The only positive from what is news that will shock almost every modeller in the country, is that they are able to manage an orderly closure of the business. This ensures that their staff are able to continue being paid in the short term. Business going under is never good news, having less choice in the marketplace is not really that important, but the impact on staff's lives and families can be huge. I hope they all manage to find suitable and timely employment. A sad day! Steve
  25. No. It has nothing to do with "lights" and is exactly how I described it to you. It makes the loco perform as if it were running light engine. Steve
