Glad to have found this thread!  Just re-reading my Terry Pratchett collection.  I hope you have your copy of Mrs Bradshaws Handbook or at the very least include her in your model as I am sure she would write a book on the light railway.

I have enjoyed the series so far.   As someone who would like to actually create a model railway it has inspired me to think about what I can achieve.  Unfortunately I simply do not have the time or space at the moment.

Just watched the "water world" episode again and can't help but wonder if there was a remixed version of the Thomas the Tank Engine theme towards the end.

The helicopters flying to the offshore platforms at Aberdeen and Blackpool follow the same flightpath as the planes and will actually fly just above the runway before turning off to land.

Looks like metal theft is getting worse...  

Loads to keep me busy on this layout for quite a while but I have a few ideas for another fantasy layout based on the Discworld of Terry Pratchett. Other ideas include maybe basing a layout on the darker side of Middle Earth with orcs etc running trains in a very dark and dirty industrial environment rather than the green and clean Shire.

I think the Hobbiton End is fantastic and I love the detail you have included.  I must say though that I do hope you do another layout based on the Discworld.  Especially as Terry Pratchett has kindly released a book introducing a railway to the Disc.  Not had chance to read it yet though
