  1. So, Update on this, I went ahead and fully programmed the unit as suggested, fine, it can read the addresses for the points and switch them correctly, so I'm happy with that unit. The second unit I needed to program, plugged in straight away and flashed as stated in the DCC Next manual, eventually got this all programmed as well. All in all, everything is working as it should, I'm just slightly confused regarding one unit flashing and the other, doesn't matter however, they are all programmed and working. Thanks for all your help.
  2. Hi, I just had a chance to try this just there, unfortunately I'm still not getting any flashing lights etc when i send the command 1, or even programming an address in to the unit and trying that. I feel I'm missing something here. Thanks
  3. I haven't uploaded the sketch on to the unit yet, doesn't state to do that in the instructions, but that makes sense to do that. I have set up one of these units a long time ago, trying to remember how I did it. I'll give this a try when I get home.
  4. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has any experience of setting up a DCC Next from ArCoMoRa with a DR5000? I have followed the manual of the DCC Next to the point that it request me to send address 1 to the DCC Next. There is no flashing light response from the unit. Has any one had something like this before, and if so, how did you get around it? Thanks
  5. Ok, so considered alright to remove and bridge then, thanks
  6. Good Evening, I'm looking for some help identifying a component inside a loco. I recently got an n gauge loco at the recent Glasgow show (Fleischmann 7175, DB 050), and opening it up in preparation for a DCC conversion, i've come across what appears to be a coil of wire with an iron bar through the middle of it. It also looks like it has melted some of the surrounding plastic. What is this component, is it necessary/safe? and is there a modern, safer equivalent. Pictures Attached Thanks
  7. ah, i didnt realize the one at whitrope had been upgraded/changed
  8. Ill have a look via teh NBRSG then, thanks was there a significant diffrence between those on the waverley and the rest of the NBR system? i know the west highland boxes were diffrent, but didnt think there was much diffrence over the WR?
  9. I havent seen any thing listed in either their sales page or archive. might possibly be something in the journals, but i would need to get them to check. just asking incase someone knew right away
  10. Hello all, Bit of a thread resurection i know, but the question is relevant. Are there any known elevation plans of NBR boxes? Looking particularly for a small to medium box. Thanks
  11. yeah , do mean the 0v output of the 12vDC outout, im not really electricaly minded, so noting it down like that is easier for me if not correct.
  12. ok, thanks for the advice. the mardec has auxiliary pins for these functions, and claims to be able to do these things, so should be fine.
  13. hmm, thats unfortunate. ive got an 8 way board coming on monday, so how should i wire that one in? Vcc to 12vDC+ GND to 12vDC- or should they be connected to the 5vDC +/- terminals on the Mardec? or 12vDC+ and mardec - ? thanks for the offer but ill just get another from Ebay, itll probably work out quicker
  14. having just checked, there is deffinetly a circuit between both pins and the Vcc on the row of 6 pins i cant see anything on either side of the board to suggest a connection problem.
