Actually, this is sad. I am no Red Bull fan, and their domination doesn't do anything for me or the sport, but they are what they are, very good at C21 F1. Newey is that peerless human - a gifted creative with supreme tech capabilities. He thrives, like many other creative people, in an environment that is tranquil, stable, single-minded. If, as we are told, Horner's unwise woman-management skills have burst the bubble, I see that as sad. Whether the power struggle is really the root cause of all this, including the claims of the indignant lady employee, we may never know, but it does the sport no favours.
2024 is turning into a legendary season for stuff happening off the track.- 2

Adrian Newey is leaving Red Bull!
It must be for Hamilton and Ferrari, you have to assume.
Toto is probably calling Max non stop now.

-GWR would take the specials from Pontypool Road to Warrington
-LNWR would take the specials from Warrington to Carisle
-North British and Caledonian railways would then take the train to Grangemouth

It would have been neat to have Typhoon, Tempest, Lancaster, etc especially since a lot of the regular run of names were for combat aircraft that were a little wanting to say the least (other than Hurricane, Spitfire, Wellington, Swordfish).

I've seen arguments that Crommell is overcredited for his successes in the English Civil War and the credit should go to Sir Fairfax.

That just isn't true. He was being criticised in the 1930s. Whatever you may think of them - Lloyd George's memoirs were 1936, Liddell Hart's was developing his critique from 1930 onwards.

Well, apart from replacing the the post civil war parliamentary crypto republican democracy with a military dictatorship…
I always thought that his statue was there as a warning to politicians about the dangers of generals with a large standing army, time on their hands and a grievance or several. He’s why the British parliament resisted having a standing army and righty put their faith in the Royal Navy!

When the GWR named 2905, it was claimed that only they could class Lady Macbeth as a Saint.
The loco got nervous about spots being on her.

Your trying to judge yesterday by the revisionist standards of today!
The country was not long out of the war and was still rebuilding at the time and yesterdays heroes are todays monsters.
I didn't judge anything - I simply said that other people have different viewpoints.

Considering some historians portray him as a tyrant.
im focused more on the name deciding/decision process and the reaction to the name.

Mercedes told me “you’re wrong” about 2022 car’s problems – Hamilton
A comment I saw online was “Both Loic Serra (senior Merc engineer) and Lewis Hamilton called out Mercedes for the wrong car design and both of them are off to Ferrari now.
They got it right.”

Verstappen would “never say never” to Hamilton-style Ferrari F1 move
Sebastian Vettel once said "Everybody's a Ferrari fan. Even if they are not, they are Ferrari fans. Even if you go to the Mercedes guys, even if they say 'oh yeah Mercedes is the greatest brand in the world', they are Ferrari fans”. -

They want their cars to be at that minimum weight limit anyway, so they'll still skimp on the paint.
Perhaps an approach that would work would be to say that all exposed bodywork has to be painted.
Eventually, it’ll be 18 black cars and Ferrari…

Totally agree with that. 👍
Maybe THE NEW Merc will be Red and the Ferrari YELLOW which is an original Ferrari colour before they went to Red. And Red Bull could be Pink, i.e. faded Red. And McLaren White with red bits. 😂
We need paint to be excluded from the minimum weight regulations because most teams are skimping on paint (there's a lot of black this year). It's ridiculous.

Motorsports is full of people who are incompetent .One well known engineer was nicknamed "**** Barely Capable ".I know of some one who wrote up various contracts incorrectly and has cost the company 6 million .Probably walkies will follow but the not the reason, so will probably get another management job .if others do the deals ,design the car, hire the people and run the car ,anyone can sit on the pit wall talking to the press and sound very impressive and that appears to have been his job .Interesting it was Dutch media outlet .They all love Max and Redbull ............but someone doesnt .
And that engineer's name was Mike Elliott... (Mercedes engineer who wanted the zero sidepod concept).- 1

Newey thinks the others might actually catch up this year having failed to do so last:

Pipe dream - if Horner is canned, Newey to Ferrari? Hamilton and Newey would be a really enticing combo if not at everyone's favourite team...
