  1. Sorry, I was refering to the flush glazing rather than the coaches themselfs.
  2. Are these still available?
  3. Im after a Hawksworth Brake. I believe Hurn Models used to do a very good one. Are they still trading and if so can anyone point me in their direction please?
  4. Oh right ok. Splendid. I didnt know this. Many thanks indeed. I will order some immediately
  5. Can anyone recommend the best way to create the black boxs for the numbers and text on BR grey unfitted vans. I've tried painting them on but I just cant get the edges and lines crisp enough. Rail-tec do transfers for certain types of vans but not for the wagons Im modelling.
  6. Quite a long shot I must admit but can anyone identify which type of coach this is. Or indeed any other information about it. Photographed at Tywyn station with the down daily goods train to Pwllheli . 29th July 1964
  7. Thanks Stephen. They have done a cracking job havent they. Im now expanding my search to include MR six-wheel Composite No.358 now at the KWVR. Ended its days as a Signal and Telegraph stores at Edgehill Liverpool in 1968 as DM284677. Moved to the KWVR and painted blue for the orginal Railway Children. Any prographs of this as DM284577 or "Just arrived" at KWVR would be brilliant.
  8. The now preserved 6 wheel Midland Railway Third Class carriage No. 253 was built at Derby Works in 1884 and withdrawn from service in 1910. After which it was converted to departmental stock / maintenance vehicle and ending its days at Shotton Steelworks in 1974. It was then saved by the Midland Railway railway centre and fully restored. Im looking for pictures of this coach between finishing service in 1910 and being sold for preservation in 1974. I've seached the web but little has come up. Can anyone help with a couple of pictures?
  9. Thank you very much all the comments. Extremely helpful. The only question remains... are there any photographs of these in bauxite (fitted or piped)?
  10. Fantastic 41516. I would love to see a picture of one of these van in Bauxite with vacum brakes as per lot 545. On a side note, what colour would "Vacuumm piped vans" be in BR days?
  11. Many Thanks for the replys. Last night I found this photograph on John Turner flickr page. There are also a couple more on Paul Barletts website but but these are taken in the late 70s https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/lmsvan. I was hoping to find a variety of images from the mid 50s to ealry 60s.
  12. In LMS Wagons Vol.1 there a couple of Photographs of these wagons in LMS grey livery, Even a fitted one but still carrying the LMS grey livery. This one being the only fitted Dia 1832A known to the author. Unfortunately there arnt any pictures of these wagons during the BR period. As this book was written a good few many years ago and alot has changed with the internet/social media etc etc since, Has anyone ever seen a picture or these vans in BR service? Did they remain (all but one) unfitted or where more converted?
  13. I've always avoided RTR stuff, building my own stock instead, using extensive photographs to super detail them up and scratch build what ever is missing from the kits. However when these came on the market I decided to try one. And my word......... what a treat they are. Honestly they are excellent and up there with the Masterpiece models stuff. Thank you Ellis and co.
  14. Thank you very much 41516. Thats really helpful indeed. Best wishes.
  15. Brilliant. I presume the numbers /lettering would have had been on black backgrounds?
  16. Fantastic, Thank you very much 41516. So would these have been Bauxite or Grey? The photograph above suggests Bauxite?
  17. The instructions for the Parkside & Dundas 0 gauge kit state at the time of writing no known photographs exist of these vans in BR livery. However they where writen a good few many years ago and alot has changed with the internet/social media etc etc since then. Has anyone ever seen a picture or these vans in BR livery? Where they ever fitted or did they remained unfitted throughout their working life?
  18. Thank you to everyone who has replied. They have been positively identified from the Alan Gibson range.
  19. Thank you PMP. Further investigation with a magnet reveals the actually wheels must be aluminum, while the Axles and tires are steel. Here is a better picture of all 3 driving wheels?
  20. Thank you PMP. Further investigation with a magnet reveals the actually wheels must be aluminum, while the Axles and tires are steel. Is this consistant with Alan harris ones?
