  1. That is absolutely brilliant...........the Peaks as I remember them in the very late sixties, how on earth do you achieve that in N. Rgds..........Mike
  2. Do you generally build your own track, or could a complete novice like me have a go?. My experience is limited to a couple of P4 points that did work but that was almost 40years ago. My vision and dexterity have deteriorated since but double slips have always fascinated me..........sad I know!! Rgds.......Mike

So sad to hear this. RIP Robbie Mike
  4. Big, big day for me today!!........Went down to mail today (17.5 Km round trip), in one of the big mail boxes were two chip pans, so I cooked myself fish and chips tonight😃, in my normal post box was the latest Scalefour News and in the other, was a copy of "The West Coast Main Line 1957-1962"...........and to top it all, Accurascale D9007 Pinza, what a model😂😂!!. Lots of bits to stick back on though. Mike
  5. Lovely images as always thanks, I always thought that there should have been far more of the V2's named as well as more of the B1's, as for 60700 and 70047 and some of the LMS Patriots...........don't get me started!!!! Rgds...........Mike
  6. Oh sh!t !!, one of those is not going to fit in my P.O. box!!😪😔 Miike
  7. Trouble was, Andy, it missed the plonker but did make somewhat of a mess of the Triang Jinty he was unboxing!! Mike
  8. Being officially "elderly", I tried to find my order for my Deltic.........PANIC!!!!!, couldn't find it, my email records from 2018 were on my old computer which dropped from two storeys high on to a stone floor = total destruction!. Did I really order one or is my ancient bit of grey matter playing up. Decided to contact A/S. Within a short few hours a reply came back from Stephen McCarron, quoting the order number and advising that despatch would be within 48 hours. What lovely people, I know it shouldn't be but service like this is remarkable...........Thanks folks. Rgds........Mike
  9. Superb, a real pleasure watching that Mike
  10. Incredibly atmospheric Photo...........I just love it!! Mike
  11. Wish I could, my late mum's birthday coincided with the coronation and I remember with fondness the celebrations of the days following, we all had a wonderful time. I was only six but I can't remember any nastiness or dissent around the occasion, great fillip for the people after the tribulations of the previous decade or so. I still think 46220 Coronation should have been preserved.🙂🙂 Mike
  12. High praise from you indeed Miss P. (love and trust your comments and opinions) .............pity it's not Midland Spinner😁😁!! Mike
  13. So did I!!!😟😟😟 Felt like a real dick! Mike
  14. Wow that's a magnificent, can't see anyone competing with that!!.........😇😆🤭
  15. Thanks David for your kind comment, now all you have to do is paint all of those lovely Pacifics RED !!!😆😆, sorry Sir Nigel....I'm sure he would be well chuffed looking at your wonderful creation. Rgds.....Mike
  16. I haven't looked at this thread before (stupid me!!), because I am basically an LMS man but what a brilliant model this is, really capturing the atmosphere of a BR steam shed. Rgds.......Mike
  17. Lovely work Mark. only saw one of the class "McKenzie" it had red nameplates in1960. Rgds....Mike
  18. Brilliant modelling, still can't get rid of the kipper smell!! Mikr
  19. I really find some of the comments on this thread, very strange. Here we are, shortly expecting the most accurate and exceptional model of an iconic prototype and people are bitching. I have one ordered (don't tell SWMBO} and I will just be happy when it lobs on my doorstep. Mike
  20. I am sorry if this info is somewhere on this site but I am stuffed if I can find it, been to Hornby's site too .....no help!!, in August 2021 I placed a pre-paid order with the Little Train Shop in Launceston Tasmania. The owner has since absconded and the Company is in the hands of a Liquidator, does anyone know the estimated delivery date of this item as my Credit Card Company is playing hard ball. Rgds........Mike
  21. This thread reminds me so much of the times at Grantham in the late fifties, lovely times, except for being "put" on the train back to Derby Friargate an excruciatingly long journey it used to seem, after watching the magnificent procession of East Coast Pacifics. Wished I could still do it though. Brilliant modelling Gilbert .....Thank you Rgds......Mike
