Has anyone thought that perhaps the original cab's Minerva had delivered, were the correct tone (comparable to the pictures above)? I wonder if Chris would allow us to purchase those 'wrong' coloured cabs so that we can choose what we prefer?

I'd class it sat with the courier's hands equally as deadly.... Fingers crossed mine will be soon!

Neither have I, and no payment has been taken from my bank account yet.
Should I be worried, or am I getting a Freebie??!!??
They're just busy changing all the cabs and installing DCC/Sound, I'm guessing it's a long job and may take some time. (Email from Chris on Wednesday said they were working through them)

I don't believe anyone has this model in their hands yet unless they provide pictorial evidence. As I don't have mine yet!

Stunning! Now, when will we get ours?

The announcement of a J94 would be......
Anyway, here's hoping to see the Class 14! (Although I won't be there, so fingers crossed someone takes some pretty pictures)

We thought it would also be more prototypical for owners to repaint the locos just like the NCB, BSC and others had to ;-)
It would be handy if you offered some unpainted models for us doer-upers

Maroon liveried 05 a figment of Heljans imagination I'm afraid.
Paul J.
A shame! I wonder why they decided to release ficticious liveries... I certainly nearly purchased a Blue one until a little more research pointed to it only being across the pond in the Isle of Wight with that livery.

You don't mention which scale. As a first resort have you tried Howes?

Porcy - have a pint on me, thank you, I wasn't aware Howes carried spares. I'll get some ordered

Have any real-world shots of the painted model been released yet?
-
Two questions if I may having just picked up one, possibly... Two of these.
1. Does anyone have a contact email address for Heljan to order spares? I can see in the instructions it gives a postal address, but who uses snail mail anymore?!
2. I've been trying to find out a little more regarding the maroon livery, it looks lovely, but where was it used? Any reference photos of it in the real world?
Thank you

Thank you Chris, we can all be thankful there will be a RTR Class 14, regardless of livery

Very much looking forward to this, did I misunderstand or is it BR Green livery only? Wouldn't mind a Blue and a Green

Hi Mic
I have never seen a class 11 with a cab rear like that, the windows have square corners not radius ones. The ladder isn't standard, neither are the cab handrails. What is that devise under the buffer beam. It appears to have both vacuum and air train brakes, class 11s were loco only brakes. The top manhole cover on the fuel tank has a filler cap that looks similar to the ones fitted to those supplied to the War Department.
Is it an ex WD one that has been brought back to the UK?
Here's the information from the picture:
Class 08, 0-6-0 Shunter 13265 (08195)
Preserved Class 08, 0-6-0 'Gronk' Shunter 13265 (08195) at Llangollen Station in North Wales (UK). 08195 was built in 1960 and withdrawn in 1989.
996 off 08's were built between 1953 and 1962.
The 08 (09/10/11) shunter 0-6-0 design was based on the LMS Class D3/7 shunter of 1939 and
LMS 12033 shunter series for the war department in early 1945 so it's safe to assume the basic body design you see here dates from the late 1930s..

Here's another one to throw into the mix! Though this one looks quite unique and I haven't seen any others like this.

I'm very impressed with this topic and everyone's contributions. We may not have the answer... Yet. But it's made for an interesting discussion!
Here's the evidence discounting they may be installed in the cab on all Class 08's (Not to say they aren't on ones that have the struts on the outside) - Not sure which 08 this is.

Broken Links from Google since outage - Here's how to fix

With the outage last week of RMweb, you'll now find that any link to a forum topic you follow through a Google search will return an error:
Oops - Euston we have a problem.
The page you requested does not exist
Error code: 1S160/2
To get around this, look at the URL bar. You'll see the link from Google is formatted like this:
https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/123456-test-topic/
Remove this piece of text " community/index.php?/ " so that the URL looks like this:
https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/123456-test-topic/
Your link will now work.
