  1. Some years since this post started abd I have STILL not decided whether to make the jump... people mention some 3D printed products, I may be dumb but I can’t find them! Can anyone point me to links please? Thank you
  2. This is superb modelling. Grew up in Bath and familiar with the station before it became a supermarket and a lot of the original structures were still there. Catching the 339 to go tovschool in Brislington meant I passed it everyday, and had job at Sainsbury's when it opened in 82 up until A levels in 84.This model is beyond reproach. I would love to see it in the flesh! One minor niggle (seriously? Who am I to have a niggle. I ought just to be burning incense before the image of this layout!) The early shots of the station show the stonework clean. My memory is that all of Bath was pretty much black until the late 70s and early 80s when a combination of concentrated effort in washing stonework and reduction in smokey coal fires eliminated that sort of pollution. Or was it kept clean whilst in use and only went black after closure? Thank you for making this and publishing here
  3. How do I delete my profile please?

  6. Marcus: Loved that post and it brought back reminders for me too - travelling to interviews for Uni in '84, and choosing Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield SOLELY becaise it meant a long train journey! Many thanks and compliments on your ability to turn a phrase that resonates.
  7. Boring??? Sorry, I disagree! yes, the railways were a bit like to old Soviet Union but they coped with the transition from Steam, they dealt with Beeching, new working practices were being introduced.. But best of all was watching the prototypes and then the first production HSTs pulling out from Bath Spa Station in school break times! The best diesel train in the world, (in my opinion). BR was far more innovative than it was given credit for, and I will do BR Blue for all the reasons everyone has given to commemorate a heroically great era. And, of course, I was born in '65 so grew up in the era!!! Happy modelling whatever era and location you choose!
  8. Just for interest...If one was to model Paddington Station terminus, how big would that be in N? Or Bristol Temple Meads. I am resisting, but you can probably tell it's a struggle. I'm happy with BR blue HSTs, but would prefer more Brit prototypes and points taht were easier to operate...
  9. As an established N gauge modeller with a soft spot for the early 80s, (although I don't model that era at the moment) I could REALLY go for this but there was a lot of negative press about it early on (I looked back last year when the HST was first mooted). Anyone read the same? Any current (or ex?) T gauge modellers who can comment on that please? The possibilities are mind-blowing - was thinking of MAYBE trying to do Bath Spa, (as that was my home town then). What I REALLY enjoy about the hobby, and why I do N, is the "model village" angle - the railway in the countryside and this if developed could do wonders. Hope they bring out some more BR stuff though!!
