  1. On the minories theme, my modelling companion was describing a plan yesterday that sounded very interesting. He thought he'd seen it in the BRM Track Plans special edition, but I can't find it. It was based on Minories but had a line going off before the terminus platforms to introduce through services not calling at the terminus station. He mentioned that they'd mocked up the plan to show that a 4CEP would fit along with a 2EPB. Can anyone shed any light on it please?
  2. Hi Martin, Thank you for suggesting that Templot might not be best. I will take your advice and purchase the layout planner pack from Marcway. I'm down near Sheffield tomorrow, so I think I'll pop in to their shop and have a chat. Thanks again Dave
  3. Hello all, One of my friends is interested in using Marcway Points and SMP Flexi for a new layout. I said I'd help him come up with a track plan, but was wondering if it is possible to draw up Marcway Points in Templot? They quote 36" radius etc on their website, but I can't find the length of the turnouts? Or which sizes they use A5/B6 etc. etc. So before he rings up to order some points, I thought I'd ask on here! Cheers BDA
  4. Cheers for the info. I'll have to pick a couple of kits up now then.
  5. I will do David, if I remember to take some photos!
  6. Hoping to make it down to the club next week. Got a sound fitted DEMU that needs a run out on the Stanmoor branch.
  7. Thanks for that Graham. Lovely little shelf layout. Looking forward to seeing it progress! Cheers Dave
  8. Loving another 3rd Rail layout on the forum. Any chance of a track plan please?
  9. Fair point Kintbury Jon. You are probably right, but I haven't seen your post! ;-)
  10. I've got Michael Welch's book on DEMUs, plenty of 3 Cars in Blue Grey livery. I think I might just invent one!
  11. Brilliant stuff. I wanted an NSE one but then I found out they were unbranded. So I'll get some of the cheaper batch and get them repainted, renumbered, weathered etc.
  12. Also, Kernow suggested that none of the two cars ever appeared in Blue/Grey. Is that true? Did they go straight from BR Blue to NSE?
  13. Just ordered a sound fitted Green one. Should arrive tomorrow. Not sure whether to have it repainted into BR Blue. Were any repainted into NSE without having a headlight fitted?
  14. OO and N Gauge 319s. Especially as they're about to spread their wings! Oh and obviously a 456 to go with it :-D
  15. What was the RRP of the blue and grey 4CEP? As the cheapest one I can find is £137, add to this that it has appeared in the new catalogue as well, unlike the OO version. So there must be some money in it, otherwise they'd be more discounted.
  16. Well you've lost me and I drive trains for a living! Having re read the post, I'm with you now!
  17. Has anyone ever managed to build an N gauge minories? I'm thinking 8ft including fiddle yard would be sufficient in N.
  18. Dave, I'm not a demanding sort of person but as it's a wish list........ Southern Region EMUs. EPBs (although I suspect Bachmann have that covered R&D wise), so I'm thinking VEPs, CIGs and 455s. I know that in OO the EMU sales are indifferent but in N gauge, I really think it's an untapped revenue earner. But, then I have to ask myself, if there was money to be had we'd have seen more EMUs being produced. Anyway, those are my thoughts.
  19. 4 EPB would be immense, as would a 3H! I'm waiting on the NSE 2H already, currently saving up for its arrival.
  20. On a different note, when did MEAs first appear in Mainline livery? Was it 1994?
  21. MEAs are still in use. I took a rake over the Settle and Carlisle the other week. They were in use on a New Cumnock to Penyfford Cement works coal train that returns via Doncaster.
  22. Ah right oh. Eagle Lane was in the June 2013 BRM and Canal Lane in Railway Modeller.
