  1. I have commented before but I have to agree with you, the layout just oozes the dales. The backscene is superb. With the talk about skirts and exterior paint work can I ask if you have plans to exhibit? Thanks for the updates and photos, very inspiring. All the best Jonathan
  2. I have to say, as someone who regularly spends a bit of time in the dales , the whole project is stunning and the backscene is superb and sets the layout off beautifully. Thanks for sharing all the updates, very enjoyable watching your progress.
  3. Glad the mojo has returned, always good to see an update. The farmhouse looks great, like it has been there for years.
  4. As a local to the old great northern route not too far from Queensbury and a regular visitor to the nymr, I have to say I am really enjoying watching your layout progress. The speed and quality of your scratch building amazes me, you have things built, painted and on the layout in the time it takes me to just think about building something. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next update.
  5. 20% off site wide at wwscenics.com until midnight Thursday 13th July
  6. Enjoyed my trip to Harrogate today, thought the show was really good, helped alot by the presence of HLJ but the mix of model railway and model engineering made for a great show. As said above the lack of model railway traders, and quality of what was there was a bit disappointing.
  7. I would just like to say how much i thoroughly enjoyed seeing HLJ at Harrogate today. The whole layout is just mind blowing. Amazing, thanks.
  8. Very impressive layout. Look forward to seeing your progress.
  9. They had 4 of one of the duchess models in the kwvr shop when I was in there on Friday. Not sure which one sorry or even if they do mail order but it might be worth a phone call? 01535 640464
  10. i got some mail order from Hobby holidays http://www.hobbyholidays.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=LIMONENE
  11. It is possible to buy chocolate block where the two halves plug together so you leave the wires connected and pull the block apart. Not sure if it's your best option but it's what I use. Googling pluggable terminal block should help you find it.
  12. Have a look at petite properties, have always been quite impressed by them when I have seen them at exhibitions, never built one though.
  13. Hello All, What an amazing thread. After reading all 68 pages and picking my jaw up off the floor a number of times in sheer wonder at what you talented bunch have created I took advantage of the 15% code and took the plunge and ordered myself a portrait cutter. Now just waiting for it to arrive. While I wait I shall be going back through the first few pages of this thread to make the most of all the hints and tips you have all shared. Hopefully I will be posting pictures of my creations on here soon. Just off to order some plasticard and some limonene so I can make a flying start. Thanks for such an inspiring thread and keep posting pictures of your wonderful models. All the best Jonathan
  14. Casks and barrels are available from ten commandments models, will come up in Google, once you get past all the "thou shall nots"
  15. Wow what a project, completely in awe of the scale of the whole thing. Will you have some form of automation for running the trains? I am sure I would get very confused with all those tracks and levels.
