  1. Thanks, was thinking as much, but good to have some confirmation, appreciated
  2. W1 Loco (original build version) is on it's way in the post to me. What would be ideal coaches for it to pull? RTR or kit
  3. Lucky here as my lady was always into the hobby. Bit of a bonus too as I was able to re-use the mechanism out of her old "Rampant Rabbit" to power my working model of a beam engine. Had to gear it down quite a bit obviously...….but on the other hand it gets through far fewer batteries than when it was in its previous usage
  4. I'm looking for near-ish replica of the attached style. Could be card, downloadable, plastic kit, MDF kit, r-t-r etc etc. Near enough would do tbh. 4mm/OO scale. Just the actual steel bridge structure, wing-walls etc not an issue. Thanks in advance for any pointers.
  5. t-b-g - I can send you a scan of the article via FB messenger if you wish - let me know & let me know who you are on there.
  6. I am building a model of an LD&ECR station. It is known that doors, window frames and ironwork were painted "green". No details of what green exist. The same colour was used on signal boxes according to research. All that survives of the original green is some which survived on the inside of doors of Ollerton goods shed - these attached. Obviously shades fade & weather greatly over time and this paint had been there for a 100 years when these pic's were taken, but these were on the inside, so give an indication. Any suggestions what the original green might have been, or maybe suggestions as which current paint products might suffice as a reasonable stab at it?
  7. I know that Phoenix Precision do a Blue Brick paint, but it appears to be only as a tin. I'm not into airbrushing, so wondered if anyone knew of an equivalent that is obtainable in aerosol can. Also looking for an equivalent for Hornby 88 - mid green - again only available in tins - any equivalent in aerosols? and finally, looking for a spray paint for welsh slate roof - any pointers. Thanks in advance
  8. Arches of brickwork (or stone for that matter), which can be altered in size and shape, pulled round etc, but retain the correct size of brick.
  9. Anyone recommend someone who paints model buildings? 4mm scale. Just need the painting done, not construction. Worksop/Nottm/Derbyshire/Sheffield area?
  10. Hi, I know this thread is a long time back, but was wondering how you did the Chesterfield town scene on the backscene? I could do with something similar
  11. Anyone know how extensive were these on the LNER (& which constituents)? and what was the general configuration? Also livery details (LNER days & pre-group). Any pic's? Also wondering what models/kits might be available in OO/4mm scale? is it possible to do a conversion of the Hornby GWR models? Any info useful - Thanks in advance.
