  1. Unfortunately on the day my very good friend and I took the photographs someone did take it seriously. An obstruction was placed on the track! Although the RCD van was unaffected the bogie on the second vehicle derailed. The obstruction was later found to be a Mk4 five eights be one rivet.

Is it a padded cell truck? It should be!

  2. The Branding on this vehicle should be  Bull S   as is well documented all PWs were named for aquatic creatures.

All Em vehicles of this type were either Dolphin S or Bull S. Enclosed pic shows the subtle differences between a Dolphin S and a Bull S.

  3. I copped that Standard Crosti 5 in 1966 at Weymouth. It was about 01.30 one Sunday morning after visiting several hoslltl, hostelll, holstels, pubs. It was on a Cucumber Special (from the Channel islands - the cucumber not the 73xxx).

On here somewhere is a Standard 2-8-0 (Redgate Models) Also a gallery of neverbuilts photoshopped by someone quite adept.

  4. Good move for Platform Models to move in with MRS, Steve Knight will help to give them a better insight into the hobby, and gives customers a good chance to drool over Horfield.

Hi Paul. fancy meeting you here!

Horfield, wan't that the one you built in the basement of your shop late 1990s.

  5. I built the Chivers 6 wheel LMS Fish Van underframe. I couldn't put swivels on the outer axles because of the brake reinforcing bar. I got away with simply allowing the center axle to float from side to side. Outer axles are sprung. Check this link for more:

The finished van looks a bit ahoo and I discovered later that paint had clogged the spring mechanism. After cleaning the vans sits well and runs very nicely indeed.

Nice one but no XP markings post 1959. mine is rigid but a bit more slop in centre axles
