  1. Looking at the Sytrex HAA's they didn't have wheels or buffer heads included and I would lack the patience to build, paint and decal 36. With the shops discount the Dapol HAA's are an attractive alternative. Regards
  2. Has there been any news since the HAA EP? Dapol's site says they will be evaluated by the 3rd quarter 2017. I've heard nothing more since this and I expect the cost per wagon will go up again by the time they are finally released (currently £49.95 RRP on Towers site). I have 36 on pre-order and hopefully they wont go up in price. Years have gone past since they were first annunced and other models seem to have been announced after these and keep getting to production first.
  3. Many may have been the wrong phrase to be honest although I have seen a few people doing the conversions, even the person I sold my old set of Heljan sides to when I did a 57 conversion can't seem to help me. Howes have none at all and the MMP ones have run out. I'm pretty much up a certain creak without a paddle, haha. If you ever need to let them go please do let me know, I'd be eternity grateful.
  4. No problem, there has been been many conversions but no one seems to have the original Heljan ones they took off the loco. If they do reappear please let me know
  5. Lovely work on the 47 Brian! I was wondering do you (or anyone for that matter) have any spare Heljan 47 bogies side frames left over from any MMP conversions? Cheers
  6. Is there anymore available via the crowd fund? As I am no longer in any Facebook groups.
  7. What radius corners will these be able to negotiate? Cheers
  8. Is it just the HEA's that are in tooling or the HAA's too? The website says the HAA's are in final CAD/CAM. Can't wait to get my hands on the rake of HAA's I have on order.
  9. I've tried wiring as per Heljans instructions but the lights only work one way. I'm not good enough with DCC to wire them up full switchable via DCC and I wanted to keep the circuit board to operate them manually. In using a Loksound L by the way.
  10. I'm surprised with the price when Dapol can do the 08 for almost half the price. Should be a good model though hopefully.
  11. Why should we have to live a model that has a RRP of 625?! I know I would repaint any, but that's besides the point. If we are unhappy to get a refund, but what happens to the people who wanted a load haul, why should they have to correct it or pay someone to correct it. I agree the model is a good model but it should not have this issue. I hope it doesn't affect any retailers finically as its a lot of money to have tied up so I hope they let the shops return unsold stock.
  12. I haven't even got a 60 yet, so you'll defo beat me! Purchased 4 duffs the other month and skint me for the 60's.
  13. Well spotted, even I had missed that! Luckily when mine arrive I will be doing colas and maybe the DBS teenage cancer trust loco.
  14. I best get the filler out for the gangway doors

    Dapol 08

Unfortunately it isn't cheap, but it's that or build a full take of wagons.. Which I do not have the patience to do! Haha. I have access to a layout where I can run then which is a bonus until I build an outdoor track (been meaning to for years!).

    Dapol 08

Looking forward to the 08 but even more so for the HAA's (I'm after a full rake).
  17. The metal buffers have made such a difference compared to previous models.
  18. Being 29 I can make a quick comment. I am predominantly diesel era, but that doesn't stop me having steam models, but they are mainly maiine locos and I enjoy the kit building side. I think the with the price of the hobby in 7mm and with more kit building/ modifying required may put people off and also with the diesel era has very little competion which doesn't help pricing etc like they do in n gauge and oo gauge, not to mention the lack of diesel prototype kits is lacking in the market with only one supplier for most of these but with a lot of the kits remaining the same for many years with no modifications or upgrades. Whilst this model isn't more me, I always commend and wish people well for producing lovely models.. You never know, a preserved railway scene with a little industrial loco may appear on a layout I will one day actually build. Hope the venture works very well and all the best. Regards Edd
  19. When do they need the 'findings' by to make a descision? I'd be happy with the 3 I said of happily take on the modern image o gauge group, although if the bank and the misses said more if be a happy man. I'm certainly not in the 12 loco bracket. I need to get promoted quick! haha.
  20. This could be what most of the Heljan purchasers have been wanting for a while. I'm always hearing people saying they only do as built never the variants. I also wonder how mk2 coaching stock wild also sell? Getting ahead of myself .
  21. Cheers! That's good news to me. I thought originally they were to be suplied with half numbered with transfers included to add the individual wagon numbers.
  22. I ended up going buying 3 whilst only going to buy flux. Bauxite OAA, civil link Dutch and the waste oil tank. With the waste oil tank what years did they stop being used?
  23. I would say large logo, blue, green and maybe something exotic like triple grey to go with the 60's? Or just skip the green
  24. Well, if this happened and was a success would that mean a different 47 variant possibly too? This is good news for me meaning I can concentrate on other kits.
  25. Amy more news on these? It's been quiet for too long now.
