  1. The YouTubers who made reviews are only just a guideline for me.

I can see what's in the box, how it looks, what you get, and get for myself an total impression.

When you are  on the other side of the Nordsee, its not easy to come over to the UK to see how an model

    looks in the real.

So You Tube reviews gives me the possibillity to get a close look.

But I make the decision if I want it or not, not the results of the review, because these are an personal thaught and conclusion

    of the reviewer,and not mine.

Therefore I search for different reviews to get an total impression and some reviewers show more of the model than others and

    from different angles.

If I had to make conclussions after reviews from Sam, I would have to let go half of the models I bought.

Steam and the proper chimney fitted!

Strange Hornby is recommending the single chimney, while in this video with the double chimney it looks clearly there are two steam colums and more blast from the chimney maybe because the steam is under more pressure because the exhaust is smaller with the two holes.

And no problems it looks like it.

On Hornby YouTube channel about the P2, there is a text saying to use the single chimney for better resulsts, but the oposite looks better resulting.

  4. When Sam is talking about the interiors, he even mentioned that the division walls will be decorated in art deco style.

So these are gone be supercoaches in every expect

Ihave a full rake on order, and hoping there will a West riding limited too in future

We are pleased to work with Hatton's and transfer over the latest batch (batch2) of Hatton's Original Genesis coaches.

Over the coming weeks we will share updates regarding production updates, delivery schedules, order transfers etc etc.

Just to clarify Rails are purchasing / fulfilling the current run of Genesis coaches which are in production now. We work closely with existing manufacturers but do not manufacture ourselves and therefore we have not purchased any tooling.

It is coming , just be patience

Is there any information about the gearing?  The first release had a ratio of approximately 18:1 which gave them a ridiculous top speed and at low speeds whilst smooth some  were reportedly a bit twitchy  to control.  Hopefully they have changed the ratio to make low speed control easier and a more prototypical top speed.

30:1 according Rails product informatio, so improved

... and all these folks working hard in dispatch will soon be out of a job :-/

I know what it is, 8 years ago I've experienced it myself when an Dutch department store chain after 125 years goes bankruptcy,

and I after 40years working there together with more than 10000 employees lost their yobs.

So I know what it is.

I assume that they are talking working days, but even making that assumption some orders are taking more than 5 days.

I have an order placed before the start of business last Friday, so only a couple of hours left of the 6th working day.

I placed an order on midnight just 10 hours after their announcement of closing, that was despatch a day later.

23 hours later I placed another order and between the first ordernumber and the new order number was an difference of 6722 orders, only placed in 23 hours time, so there maybe thousends more after that date.

The first order I received this Tuesday , the second order I am still waiting for despatch.

It must be an very big orderbook they are solving with, maybe thents of thousends, so can take a little while longer I think.

  9. The LNER B17/5 is great news, also the two bogie wagons from LMS ,GWR, and not my time period but the early 9F 92002 with sound looks tempting, have 92167 bought last year because it is the last steamloco series build in the UK, but this one looks great too.

And if the Dublo Deltic will be as promised by Simon maybe this one too, missed out the Bachmann, but iconic loco.

Further I do hope the promise of to catch up is holding for this year , still waiting for the Nelson class in malachite and Peckett W4 Crawshaw, both announeced in 2020 and time over time prosponed.

All other releases old [very] stuff in new expensive coats as far I can see.

Over the passed years my expenses were 80% Hornby 20% others, but last few years slowly this has changed to 20% Hornby and 80% others, especially the newcomers , Rapido, Accurascale, all this because Hornby did not deliver as promised over the years.

Maybe this change again as they deliver what has been announced.

  10. The original announcement Andy showed on page 1 of this topic was third class dining saloon numbers 7864 and7867

with an picture of the coach from Mike King.

In Januari 2021 Hornby changed this on their site to third open 1363 and 1366 still with an picture of the original lined.

And now they are coming unlined, you cannot depent on Hornby anymore because they changed their announcements over the time.

I'm very dissapointed for the second time , the first time with the restaurant car unlined and now this one.

I have over 80 lined SR Maunsell coaches and expected Hornby would extent this range with lined coaches, but no again plain green.

Luckely I have a few of the open third from the other diagram they produced Lined first and second batch.

    This again dissapoint me.

I'm buying more and more other makes they deliver what they  announce.

  11. Seems there is an allround price increase on Hornby site of 10%  this week P2 now from 230,- to 254,99

The Nelson class anouncements from 2020 for original release price of 153,-now again went up to 205,99and 18 months to go before it is going to be released, at what price.

Hornby can announce this year a lot of stuff, but what is the sence if these items take 3 years or more before to come at much higher prices than

    at the time of announcement.

Better is like the smaller makes, not to much but in realistic timerelease for the price they announced.

Maybe a little increase is neccessary over a short time to release, but not what Hornby is now doing increase over increase and delay over delay of release.

So, I am more and more buying from the smaller makes who release there items in about a year time after announcement, and for the price they stated.

Hornby genesis coaches are now 36,49 that will going to be a bestseller for Hattons genesis coaches for there still promissed

    30,-

    Gulp!

R3732 Sir Walter Raleigh now due Spring 2023?

    When did that happen?

And Sir Martin Frobisher for summer 2023, and a price increase of 10% this year from 187,- to 205,99,

and another 18 months to go for release, it will be about 250,- or higher at the time it is on the market.

This way Hornby is loosing his confidence, 100,- price increase since original 153,- price anouncement at 2020,

when these were announced as new models for 2020.

  13. www.modellbahnunion.com have all four versions still in stock now 2 SR green, 2 BR maroon , now for only € 28,68 euro in the black friday sale.

Lots of Hornby / Dapol and Bachmann items in the black friday sale, up to 30% and some even till 44%, discount on loco's coaches , wagons and buildings.

I ordered yesterday a BR maroon and Bachmann SR breake down crane , this one cost only € 170,48 about 142,- pound, and still available on this moment in GWR and SR livery

    Have a good hunting all:D
