  1. that's the colour i'd want one in . was a roadster in that colour in a local showroom for years , absolutely gorgeous
  2. a lesson they learned from , they gave an XJS for the ian ogilvy return of the saint TV show
  3. neighther the car or person is genuine it is a modern photoshoot with a look alike .. both very good stand ins though it has to be said , the original car was sympathetically restored a few years ago leaving marks roger had left on it like burns in the ash tray etc
  4. BUT ME , I'M RETIRED FROM DRIVING , driven pretty much everything , and my last vehicle is still languishing in my mates garden since i parked it there 3 yrs ago , i was getting too irresponsible and it wasn't scaring me anymore or giving me the Adrenalin rush it once did popping wheelies at 60MPH , jumping railway level crossings and 0-60 in 3.5 secs had become boring but never the less it was heading towards half a day out with the undertakers
  5. another friends car an ultima GT , the intended V8 wasn't pokey enough , so replaced with a ferrari enzo engine with many re designed items such as new exhaust systems , re designed air intake through bulkhead cavity , plus a whole list of re design re manufacture
  6. GOT A RIDE IN MY FREINDS CAR THAT HE FULLY RESTORED , unlike many it's driven as intended . like he stole it
  7. i use the test units as mini sanding blocks , a source of styrene , etc
  8. the ford fell down a fjord and got stuck in a ford !!
  9. i never did when i worked for an engineering company transporting heavy items like motors etc , although the most likely scenario would be no pallates , heavy items like motors that were likely to be lifted were provided with a lifting eye bolt on the ballance point at the top so they were lifted with the forklifts forks overhead with a sling threaded through the eyebolt once tied down or ratchet strapped the pressure from the weight and the tieing down would keep them in place so if it was a company doing this work regular no pallates would be the norm far safer and more secure
  10. ah i follow your meaning now , have to say that is another unusual livery !!
  11. trouble is that that wasn't weathering that was the previous owners none too tidy use of evo stick
  12. a bit of light painting and some slow shutter panning
  13. quite by accident and with no intention of modelling BR blue or a layout for that matter here i stand building up stock to build my signal box area from 1981-82 it started by buying a Hornby 47 for a poseable model for an oil painting i am doing and sort of escalated i also enjoy restoring basket cases the 31 below is the one above after much restoration
  14. yes i did indeed view it as a dull period , given my father used to be a guard on them and as a kid was made to go to work with him especialy during the summer holidays when i'd have much rather been out with my mates . at the time class 40 mainline cab rides from manchester to llandudno , york , chester , as well as class 47 , 25 , 08's and DMU cab rides all over the north west ( including being allowed to drive one ) albeit sat on the drivers knee being guided were well down my to do list !! the highlight was getting a look around the great train robbery loco that was cut up in privacy to stop souvenir hunters i moved onto working on the railways in both signal boxes and on platforms but it wasn't what i wanted back then so i moved on as i was far more intrested in cars and motorcycles so ended up working in garages ironicly a bit of thinking and i could have worked at newton heath sheds ( however i had been around that place many times with my father and fe**ing filthy was a huge understatement altho i didn't particularly enjoy it at the time you look back and realise what a privaledge it was to have done it it is still very much a boring phase to me but i have always wanted to build the signal box area where i once worked so memmory and variety of traffic were deciding factors
  15. why can't i post or do anything ?? how long before i can become active ??
