I despair of "exhibition" layouts that feature locos without them or drivers (steam locos with no one of the footplate look stupid) .
-
I've added crew and the pipes on the driving ends, as can be seen.

Yes, on Hornby chassis. 18000 came via Hattons Pre-used about a year ago for a very reasonable £112, and 18100 RTR direct from Silver Fox this week.

Thanks for that. Lovely loco, which I've enjoyed riding behind a few times:

With a Gas turbine lurking in some pictures.

Sorry no, it sounds like the new Hornby 5 pole (as fitted to their rehash of Lima railcars 73s etc, but I can't easily get into it as there's a sheet of plastikard glued across the chassis between the bogies. I may have to cut that loose to gain access to fit crew though, which might give me more clues. I'll take some snaps later, when I'm in the rather warm attic.

Thanks. I need to sell the incomplete one ASAP to help fund it!

I think so, very rarely go into the City Centre

I'm very lucky to have the space to do it.

Very impressed with it. Looks excellent, runs v nicely, romping round almost silently on 3 coaches and a van without any apparent effort.

A little bit of fun!

Interesting! I lived in Redcar from 1985-2000, owning a house over the road from the line, just east of Redcar Central signal box. I used to travel past the steelworks on my way to and from Middlesborough and beyond.
