  1. Mine also arrived today, runs very smoothly and quietly.
  2. Mine has just arrived, looks lovely, and has negotiated all bits of the layout I need it to. A couple of laps with 7 Bachy colletts (all that was handy and not air braked-got to be a bit sensible!) showed decent haulage as well. Very snugly packaged as well.
  3. A lot of recent Hornby and Bachmann new releases have been very late at Hattons, K1, J15, 64xx, E4 for example. Makes you wonder if they're being left dangling as a result of the manufacturers displeasure at Hattons very aggressive pricing in the last couple of years.....
  4. Just spotted the same problem on my 035 and 007, but not 013 or 045. Fitting drivers to them has been trickier than I hoped.
  5. My green one is still showing on order on Model Rail's site, which is nice
  6. Several smaller retailers are showing them in stock, though.
  7. Typically, mine will be the last livery to arrive, as was the case with the 64xx and will be for the E4 (heritage line I'm building in the attic). Never mind, another few weeks won't matter
  8. Hmm, Hattons have been late with a couple recently.......got my J15 locally before they had it.
  9. Plenty of Arriva ones in Lord and Butler this am. Very nice they look too.
  10. On a similar note, had email re 20118 today, up from £70 ish to over £90, so have cancelled and will look out out for 2nd hand one to tinker with, as it'll need etched plates as well, that's an expensive Type 1.
  11. Interesting, just tried buying something at a very good price from the place with 345,000 feedback. Accepted the order, took my money, and then cancelled the order as item out of stock, and refunded the money. Why list items that are out of stock? Fortunately picked one up at a higher price from my usual box shifter, but annoying and a waste of my time. The only other time I tried to use them a few years ago, there was a hidden insurance cost (£1?) in the checkout process.....Won't bother again. There are most straightforward places to buy from.
  12. As requested, Silver Fox body on old Bachmann 03/04 chassis with jackshafts chopped off.
  13. Sorry for the delay, but the 07 has just arrived on a low loader....more later...
  14. Just off to light a fire in a steam loco and raise steam for a days running. Something that used to happen all over Britain thousands of times a day for over 100 years. Apart from me, how many others will be lucky enough to do this on a Friday in early March, only a couple, I'd imagine?

Been there, done that. All of us who do (or in my case have) put the hours in are very fortunate in the return from our investment. I still miss it.

Went well. Trade fair for those that stock the gift shops at heritage railways to meet and place orders with the purveyors of assorted tat. Good fun, met and did shed tour for Chris Vine, writer of the Peter's Railway books, very nice chap.

  15. Cash only, no Paypal, against ebay rules, so reported. If I have to pay fees, so should everyone else!
  16. For those of you on Farcebook, I've just posted a little film of it on "Model railway enthusiasts". Can't seem to post the link here, though.
  17. Just being sticking twiddly bits on mine, and adding crew. It's happily trundled round with 4 Bachmann suburban coaches, and did briefly move 7 mk1s easily, but I didn't want to strain it before it's run in.
  18. Just picked one up from my local shop, Lendon's in Cardiff and cancelled my Hatton's preorder. Price will be near enough the same when postage considered. Lendon's nearly sold out, I understand.
  19. Lord and Butler expecting them "imminently", though won't have anything delivered til Monday at the earliest.
  20. Hope some have arrived in Beatlesland for one to be sent on to South Wales.....

14th August, to be exact, which will be my birthday, should I survive that long.....
  22. Am I missing something here? Brilliant description and answers to questions, though.....
