I knew this would all kick off, I had slate expectations.... -
Castle Caereinion on the Welshpool and Llanfair is a lovely quiet spot, albeit with limited facilities. Parkend on the Dean Forest Railway is in a lovely setting, as is nearby Perrygrove. All the Great Central stations are good, especially Quorn. Agree with previous posters re Arley/ Highley, Tan-y-bwlch, Staverton, Weybourne, Keighley. I enjoy a sit at Abergynolwyn with tea and cake next the one of the Talyllyn locos. Haven Street and Horsted Keynes have atmosphere. Both termini on Groudle Glen are good, Llen Coan in the woods, and Sea Lion Rocks on the cliff top. Yes, Kemsley Down is odd, and malodourous....enjoyed it! Flagging a Deltic down at Newtondale Halt is a touch bizarre......

Oh, yes Cleethorpes. It was only running part of its normal route due to problems with a level crossing: I've had a go on that bike, it visited Perrygrove with Redgauntlet for a Gala in 2013, whilst I was a volunteer there. Got cramp later, and hadn't even left station limits with it: Some close up Katie action, from about 2mins38: -

It is! They are very talented modellers, and I get to play with it occasionally! I don't seem to be able to embed any video clips from their Facebook page onto here, unfortunately. Forgot about this railway, which fits into this category, also another Fairbourne one: -

A few little films I've made of some of the railways mentioned: Friends of mine own and operate a 1/12 scale model railway, Borth Aberdovey & Ynyslas Railway, which was exhibited a few times in late 2019, and hopefully again later this year. It's very 15 inch Fairbourneque, though set a touch further south. They do have a Facebook page, if anyone is interested. Some of my snaps here:- 437 replies

The Stourbridge Town Branch.
Tim Hall replied to LeeWL's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
Have a bubble car! Stourbridge Junction, 28th Aug 1987. I grew up halfway between Wolverhampton and Stourbridge, and used to catch a bus (256 became 556, or 257) to either place to start my rail travels when I visited my parents after I'd left home, and had days out from there. -
May not still be relevant in term of the ratios. At least some of the paints will now be made using different formulations, for example reds, oranges and yellows probably used lead chromate or cadmium then, which they can't be now.

Looking on their Facebook page, they are mentioned yesterday by a local locksmith, as having their property made secure after a fire next door. It looks like the fire service made an emergency entrance to Rails, breaking glass in the front and rear doors in the process.

Wall Heath - 00 gauge - Black country - 80s & 90s
Tim Hall replied to Jamesb's topic in Layout topics
As someone who grew up in Wall Heath, living there from 1967-1984 and then visiting fairly regularly until I cleared my parents house there in 2014, I shall watch this with interest. -
Whilst the railway is currently Southern 1960s, the village isn't sure when it is, but now boasts road markings, street lights and gulls! Telegraph poles and chimney pots soon.
