I feel like i'm back there on holiday!         

The pic of Sheffield Park that you are getting ready.....what is the large shed building on the left?  I like it.

         I am speechless. The tree..........       ........it's just superb.

Yes! there' s more too. And some still to be built including a derelict mill, big brick warehouse 30" long a long carriage shed,  smaller engine house, 4 signal boxes, another pub, small rows of houses  and a model of Gibson Mill.

 Will put up some more pictures when I find some more time.   

I plan to make a stone press for retaining walls and do some casting of terraced house fronts, tunnel portholes and building segments. 

Gulp.....and to think at this point in time I am building myself up to attempt a scratch built engine shed......  

Jaz.......that tree and your step by step guide is THE NUTS!!!  I am loving your work.  Cant wait to see more  

Those buildings look excellent......and some of them are spectacular in their size!  Are they all destined for the new layout when it's finished??

Blimey...maybe you've unwillingly created a new super strength composite to rival carbon fibre?!!!  

A really newbie question so apologies:  What material do you use for the grass?  I know you use static grass but what do you put down as a base before that?  Is is Flock?

Interesting fact re the sheep in Goathland....they all have their full tails....it's the only time I've seen it as I never realised sheep tails are so long! Not that I'm suggesting you start sticking long tails on all your sheep!!    

The more photos the better I say...gives us all reference material for when we finally have a go!  

I love that new stream and your brick wall is just first class....which is a result of the time and effort you put in to cutting it into shape etc.  I really does look awesome.  What I particularly love is the height you've been able to achieve on the wall (something I wont be able to do).  

The colour of the stream is perfect too (I should know as I've paddled in it!!  The rocks around the stream are also very red and in places stain the water in the same way - just as an fyi.  

What did you use for the water in the end (apologies if i've already asked this)?

Thanks Kal...will do the same when building my bridge.  My Goathland isn't going to be a patch on yours in terms of scale and accuracy. 

Hi Jaz & Kal, Happy New Year to you both.  The landscaping is looking ace.  I am really enjoying the progress.....dedication that you were even posting on 25th December!  

Just one question re your post 1414 (page 57) - how did you make the little girder bridge?

Finally caught up with your thread after being away from the forums for a bit.  You guys have been really busy.  Goathland and a Sheffield Park project - you certainly don't do things by half!   

I like the fact you have spun Goathland round 180 degrees as I think you have now go the more interesting side facing you (same as me).  It allows for a lot of fun modelling.  The new landscapes you are building in Goathland look really good and I am really enjoying the progress of the re-build.

I have just looked through this thread for the first time...mainly at the pictures to be fair as ther was so much to look through and far too much to comment on in one post, but I will continue to follow this thread now that i've found it.  All I can say is WOW!!!  I love the layout/pictures/detail/locos.  Thank you.

Learnt about it the hard way with a huge headache the first time I cut it!!

Ouch....I got one the other day using spay paints for the sky back-scenes!
