Obviously rule 2 would be; if it looks right, it is right

It is fun to operate and is always a joy to see children's and adult's face when their favourite engines come jauntering down the track!
-
We certainly were kept busy and people kept coming back for more, so I must be doing something right
-
The face on Daisy was take from a second hand Wooden Railway Daisy obtained from eBay.

Well it certainly true what they way about great minds think alike. I was planning on a simple mechanism to lower and raise a bucket into the water

Thank very much Lamington.
It's a shame that modelling Thomas and Friends isn't taken as serious as it should be. It's fun and very enjoyable to do, also without the TV Series there wouldn't be as many people who are my age modelling... I wouldn't be on RMweb without it

Thank you Andy, who doesn't love a bit of Red Dwarf ay? Steve, as long as you ballast the track with it too and don't use track pins it will keep them. The only places PVA goes near is the frames and the scenery these days.

You are correct gentlemen. The plan is to model the engines and rolling stock as seen in the first 2 series of Thomas and Friends as I grew up watching them and inspired me to model in the first place. After I have achieved that I then will be modelling the engines and rolling stock as per The Railway Series book

They are the American Bachmann models, but I modify them slighty, Toby for instance has has his Cab doors and windows opened up and his cowcatchers cut to make them see through. All my models get the 3 link/screw link coupling treatment too. I will go into more detail in a blog entry soon

It certainly is and the beautiful thing is that everyone else was in bed so I could put it up in the living room!

I must say that does look very nice! I doubt I could ever build anything like that, I can hardly solder two piece of scrap together. Well done Gavin

Looks wonderful like a well used wagon that is taken care of

Knuckles you are a man who like sto have ago himself so how about trying some of those homemade transfers for the tare weights and Return to Tidmouth? I will be trying them out for myself soon, just got to work out what month I can afford to buy some more railway supplies.

It's the same for me as I model LNER 1923 -1948 obviuosly I dont run the later LNER stuff with the earlier (unless no one is looking) and the amount of RTR stuff is quite small and the ones they do are either not available anymore/yet or Limited Editions.

Thank you Peter,
The track plan was designed to be interesting to operate and it is. I would love to model O gauge but have neither the money or the space for it I struggle enough with OO.

Having been to Barrow Hill last year, this model is oozing the same atmosphere already, imagine what'll it be like when you have done futher work to it! Keep it up!

That is some fantastic modelling there fella! By chance you don't happen to have pics during the build and a list of Tri-ang/Hornby parts used so over people might be able to have a bash do you?

Wouldn't the chimney on the traction engine be removed for transportation by rail? I'm sure I've seen pics somewhere. I must admit I rather enjoyed this blog thank you
