Hi,
A friend of mine is interested in seeing an historic timetable for the Machynlleth, Towyn, Barmouth & Pwllheli line. Any pointers?
TIA
-
Thanks to all for the informations on this vendor. I for one am grateful to posters.
-
Seems like a bargain. What do you guys think?
-
I suspect it's s typo. I'm guessing it should be 11 or 15.
At least I hope so, otherwise I share the astonishment of G_BOAF.
-
Ooops! Sorry. Will try to transfer it.

Hereford Model Centre have the Cathedrals Express going at a bargain (!) price. What are your opinions on this set?

Hi, sorry if this question has already been covered, I don't visit this forum very often.
I have purchased a couple of locos that require 21 pin decoders. I've been looking at these decoders but as it happens I usually use 8pin and have a small stock of these. I have come across adaptors that claim to convert 8 pin to 21 pin - so, my question is; are these adaptors any good and is the functionality preserved?
I'm not interested in sound but I have the Dapol railcar which has a few lighting functions.

Okay, this is not a total solution but there is an app called GSimpleRelease which will enable you to do focus stacking with your Lumix cameras. It claims to work with the LX100 (which I think you already have) and the web site is here...

I doubt it would be very useful "in the field" but if you are just concerned with photographing static subjects it might save you a few bob.
Edit: the more I read about it the less useful it looks

I can see why you want such a feature on a camera. I'm going to the Stafford Railway Circle show tomorrow at Stafford Showground (plug) and I'll take a few dozen pictures of the layouts, most of which will be of such narrow focus that they'll be rubbish.
-
It can be done in software irrespective of the (digital) camera used. I use Linux and the Hugin program, though I use it mostly for panorama stitching, has a plug-in that does this. There are several Windows programs that will do it too.
-
It isn't just these locos, I think. I have a Bachmann 64XX which is lovely thing but keeps stalling on my (insulfrog) points. It's to do with the pick-ups and any suggestions to improve matters would be useful to me also.

Are shops waiting for a new shipment of these to enter the country? I'm interested in W8 with factory-fitted decoder but can't find an example.
-
From the Rails bargain store.
Whereas a castle without DCC Sound is more expensive.
One of those odd situations that sometimes arise on bargain pages.
-
The railcars are dropping a bit as well.
Does anyone know about the availability of W8 with factory fitted decoder?
-
IMHO, as one who uses eBay quite a lot, I have not found it to be a prime source of railway bargains. Most of the good deals I've found have been through on-line dedicated retailers, such as Rails of Sheffield.
-
A general question about bargains. I want to buy the new Dapol railcar, as well as another loco I've had my eye on for a while. So, is it better to wait now till after Xmas or not?

Many thanks to all responders.

This is more of a question than anything else. I have never used a scroll saw and wondered if it would be worth the investment. I am very much a beginner in the modelling line.

Just wondered what more experienced modellers would think.

The Dean Goods has dropped in price at Rails. Can I afford another?
-
If someone gave me some dimensions and a few photographs I'd be willing to design one.
Someone get the details to this man! (I would but I'm waiting for mine to arrive)

Around 1960 West Bromwich station used to be visited by No. 8. We even made up a chant about it; "Diesel 8 the old crate!". This is probably unforgivably off-topic.

Many thanks to all. I have passed on the information to my friend who is using it on his (MS) Train Sim.
