  1. Apologies for the confusion @young37215 I meant the corridor connections have been sprayed using weathered black, not the vestibule ends. My fault. I have collated the variant information about SCR BSO(T)’s from this thread and about ready to put it into some form of table format, then see if anyone can fill in some of the of gaps and double check my work for accuracy. Cheers, Bill.
  2. We would all love to have the space to model a mainline setting. This crossover is destined to become part of a run-round on a branch terminus.
  3. Assembled the ‘OO’ LH B7 crossover this evening. As with the other British Finescale turnout kits I have built, this was a delight to put together. In effect you are just building facing 2 turnouts at the same time. Just the tie bars to solder to the switch blades but that can wait until the morning. Big thanks to Wayne for releasing this, I’m sure it will be a popular addition to the growing range! Flat bottom rail turnouts next please?? Cheers. Bill.
  4. Not a lot of progress here due to lots of family and work commitments. Whilst not being at the work bench, I have managed to get some red “MICRO-BUFFET” transfers printed. I have also now have some Shawplan / Extreme Etchings MK1 window frames. To fit frames to a BSO(T) you will need a set of EECD4008 (MK1 standard frames) and EECD4008(A) MK1 brake coach frames. Hopefully MJT / Dart Castings will be at Warley so I can pick up roof vents for my 2nd conversion which will have window frames fitted, different roof vents and Commonwealth bogies to add some variety to the fleet. Just need to work out what running number will be suitable for it. Need to decide whether to use white lining transfers for the white band between the blue and grey or have a try with a lining pen. Cheers. Bill.
  5. Thanks for the info Wayne. Just about finalised the track plan so will be placing an order for a few kits very soon. Looking forward to building some more of your kits! Cheers. Bill.
  6. Bewdley wasn’t that quiet at kicking out time on Saturday night. Lively would be one way to describe it!!!
  7. Just been looking into window frames for my 2nd conversion (and subsequent repaints for the rest of the Hornby MK1 fleet to match the BSO(T) Shawplan / Extreme Etchings do sets of frames for MK1 opens and BG so a combination of sets could provide the frames required. I think MJT / Dart castings do roof vents. Something else I need to look into for the 2nd BSO(T) conversion. @Daddyman could repaint the glazing bars with a lining pen possibly? EKM or Peters spares might be worth a try for a set of replacement glazing.
  8. Was thinking similar and thought about putting together an excel table to try and collate basic info that wouldn’t change such as bogie type, roof vent etc
  9. Thanks for the positive encouragement. Based on the recommendation from our modeling groups airbrush guru, I will be using Vallejo Premium gloss varnish before applying transfers, then Matt to seal the transfers in. I have the Railtec white lining transfers but currently debating to try using a bow pen. Cheers. Bill.
  10. Respray almost complete. A lot learned from a 1st attempt at a respray and 1st serious use of the airbrush. Slow down, light coats, patience and practice masking up better! touching in next where there has been some bleed under the masking tape and where I’ve chipped some of the blue, then a coat of gloss varnish ready for transfers. Still have the vestibule ends to spray in weathered black but just run out of airbrush cleaner, so that will have to wait.
  11. I’ve had numerous issues with NCE cables over the years. DCC Concepts would probably be your best bet for a replacement cable.
  12. Little bit more progress here now I am back off holiday. Time for the spray booth…. Rail grey applied to the bodysides and underframe given a coat of Precision frame dirt. Next job will be mask up ahead of applying Rail blue to the bodyshell. The underframe will be weathered further with some oil / grease staining at a later stage to break up the uniform frame dirt.
  13. Arrived safely here. Another great quality book and fills in a lot of my Class 37/0 knowledge gaps! Thanks again. Assume a 37/4 volume is next for release? Cheers. Bill.
  14. I agree the 3” red stripes are no use for a BSO(T). I would remove the 3” stripes and replace with a couple of additional 2” stripes. Was “Micro Buffet” used on BSO(T)? If so, then add Micro buffet in the space left.
  15. Maybe worth dropping Steve @railtec-models an email to see he could produce a custom set. He technically already has the artwork, just needs to be a different colour. 9015 is on my radar to do if the conversion and respray goes OK so I would be interested in a set as well. Cheers. Bill.
  16. Not huge amounts of progress here to report. Bodyshell now in primer which highlighted a couple of areas on the roof where the periscopes and roof hand rail used to be that needs sanding back further to remove a couple of traces of where they used to be. Roof re primed and now the body shell is ready for the spray booth. Time to put the big boy pants on and see my air brushing talent can match my expectations!! Cheers. Bill.
  17. Hi. For clarity. If you want to email Brian (placing orders etc) please use brian55hanson@icloud.com the Brian@shawplan email address was lost during a web hosting issue. Brian has updated the home page of the website. Hope this helps.
  18. Not aware of any being available commercially. Maybe cut and shape some thin styrene strip?
  19. Productive couple of hours this evening. Roof hand rail and boards above the corridor connections now removed from the bodyshell. Bodyshell scrubbed again with cheap kitchen cream cleaner ready for primer tomorrow. Made up the buffet counter and new partitions which have been fitted to the false floor and the whole thing glued into the interior. (Humbrol Liquid Poly works a treat on the plastic Hornby have used for the interior)
  20. DOH!! Sorry @SC55015 it was me not reading your post properly. However, on the plus side, more good, detailed info has emerged on the thread. As you said, some brass wire will sort it.
  21. Thanks for the quick response @McC I will arrange to return both my chips for exchange through my account as they both cut out on start up
  22. Is there now a fix available for the flange squeal not working and the loco not moving away until speed step 8 when the sound is on?
