  1. Looks great @SC55015 A little progress here as well this evening. Following advice from @SC55015 the hand rail at the guards end and periscopes have been removed from the bodyshell (thankfully managed not to destroy the roof ribs) Seating bay cut out using a razor saw for the vertical cuts and piercing saw for the horizontal cut. New floor cut from 1mm styrene (25mm x 31mm) hopefully get some primer on the body tomorrow and complete building up the buffet area.
  2. That is great info, thanks. I will remove the periscopes and hand rail at the van end as well. Cheers. Bill.
  3. Made a start on my my BSO(T) conversion. Reduced the coach to its component parts. The shade of blue Hornby use is way too dark and I’ve never been happy when Hornby coaches are next to other manufacturers locos or coaches so decided to try a full repaint. The body went into the IPA bath for 24hours which stripped off the factory paint. Next job will be to remove the end footsteps off the body, a scrub with cheap kitchen cleaner, then a couple of coats of Tamiya white surface primer.
  4. The BSO(T) is looking great Rob! Just about to start my conversion so will post some progress photos on on the other thread (once there is some progress) The wife ordered the SDEG 37/0 book last night as soon as she saw the email. From memory there will be a 37/4 book, possibly the next one to be released. Cheers. Bill.
  5. Hi Rob. If it helps, this is the work I did on a Airfix MK2D interior to convert it to a TSO(T) Maybe worth trying Peters Spares for replacement Commonwealth bogies? hoping to make a start on my BSO(T) conversions soon. Cheers Bill.
  6. Great progress! The flowing curves at either end look particularly nice. Accurascale locos are not the best for finding dead spots in track work. The stay alive function is far too good!
  7. I converted a MK2d TSO to a TSO(T) for one of my Push Pull rakes and did exactly as you described Rob for the interior conversion, cut the seating bays out, made a false floor and added a representation of a serving counter and partition. An enjoyable and straightforward little project. The Railtec buffet transfer sheet is really useful for running numbers, red buffet stripe etc.
  8. Just reading about current draw further back up the page. I found you can have the current amp draw on the display on a NCE Powercab. I was pleasantly surprised how low the amps were when running sound locos. You can also tell when an Accurascale stay alive has fully charged when initially putting the loco on the track as the amp reading will drop from 0.3 to 0.1A Cheers. Bill.
  9. I’ve a couple of BSO squirrelled away with a view to converting to BSO(T) There are a couple of threads on here and some very useful posts earlier in this thread. From what I understand, there is quite a lot of variation so not all conversions were the same. I need to get a copy of the HMRS MK1 coach book which I’m led to believe details the conversions well. Ive never been happy when the shade of BR Blue used by Hornby (way too dark IMO) and the printed numbers are a pain to remove without damaging the paint below (as I have already found out by experience) I will probably respray the bodies when I get round to converting mine. Cheers. Bill.
  10. Hi Rob. Thanks for sharing the updated acceleration CV setting. That looks and sounds better with some thrash at a lower speed step. A lot more like a WHL 37!!
  11. Finally got chance tonight to unbox 043 and onto the rolling road for running in. My initial trio of Accurascale 37’s is complete!
  12. Silly question time. What shade blue would have used on the steps, frame and fascia boards? Standard BR blue? Regards, Bill.
  13. Took a trip up to Chester yesterday. Great to catch up with Fran and the team. Finally met Richard at last too. Found that the crowd thinned out later in the day so was able to get a good look at Making Tracks 3 along with the Accurascale goodies running on it. Although not my era, the Caledonian sleeper rake with the 92 is very impressive!! looking forward to seeing all of the Making Tracks projects joined to form 1 layout in October. From what Pete Waterman was saying, there is a lot of work to do! Cheers. Bill.
  14. Thanks Paul. I am a complete DCC numpty when it comes to CV’s etc. Not happy with how the 2 37’s I have fitted with Accurascale chips react to the throttle. Factory sound fitted 37043 arrived this week so will be interesting to see what difference there is to my 1st 2 locos. Just need to find some time to have a tinker with them!! Cheers. Bill.
  15. Hi Paul. Just catching up with your thread. The end plates look great. I like the alignment idea. Out of interest, which CV No did you change from 40 to 70 on your Accurascale 37? Cheers. Bill.
  16. Hi. Thanks for the recent replies and info. I did look at the Pop Up Designs kit which I think were on a Preservation stand? at Model Rail Scotland earlier in the year (Was in the far corner of the hall) I wasn’t keen on the large tabs and thought there is a fair amount of work to get the kit to what I want it to be. Cheers. Bill.
  17. Was going to make the trip to Chester later in the month. Looking at booking the day off work and going on Friday instead. Be good to catch up with Accurascale team and see Making Tracks III. Couldn’t get near Making Tracks II at Milton Keynes last year.
  18. Dispatch email recieved, all being well 043 should be here tomorrow and I’m working from home!!
  19. Hi @Accurascale @McC has dispatching now been completed for the Large Logo Class 37’s?
  20. You are not alone. Inbox being checked several times a day for the dispatch email!!
  21. Working on site tomorrow and Wednesday so hoping my 043 doesn’t get dispatched until Wednesday so I can intercept the DHL delivery person on Thursday and avoid any more awkward questions about large boxes being delivered! Cheers. Bill.
  22. I will be shocked and stunned if there isn’t a Scottish LLB 37/4 in the next announcement. Personally, I’m hoping for a Scottish LLB centre headcode 37/0. I already have the name plates and numbers for 37191 waiting!
  23. Have to agree with you. I think we are entering a new era of the hobby with manufacturers like Accurascale, Cavalex and Revolution knocking it out the park with finer detail, better technology, competitive pricing and great customer service giving the more established manufacturers a run for their money. Fingers crossed 043 arrives here next week completing delivery my order of 3 37’s (for now) Hoping for more 80’s Scottish examples in the next 37 announcement. Cheers. Bill.
  24. Sadly won’t make Stafford as we are away but hopefully catch up in January at DEFine. Cheers. Bill.
