  1. Couplng height gauge is simple. A small rectangular plasticard fabrication of 4 layers of 40thou. plus 1 of 20 thou. glued, layered together. It does help if the top layer overhangs a little.

  2. I've just returned from holiday so I'm sorry Tim V. for my late reply.

I thought I'd put the dates in the form as required, obviously not!

    Thanks for picking that up.

Why not take in all these and have a  great day out.

  4. Thanks for these pics. You've enabled me to see ,in detail, some very good modelling that, as an exhibitor, I didn't get much chance to see.

I was on the Midford layout, stood out a mile as English!

  5. As a member of the Small & Delightful Railway Group, although speaking privately, I don't think this day could possibly be taken as a successor to NGSW.

NGSW was a large and excellent show, as a showcase for narrow gauge modelling it probably had no equal.

The show at Compton Dundon was much smaller and encouraged discussions and gave visitors (and exhibitors) the opportunity to get

behind layouts, perhaps to "have a go".

  6. More bad news, I'm afraid. Scratchy Bottom has been cancelled.

Pity as this is a favourite of mine. At this late stage we are not going to

look for a replacement but we will re-instate the club table for demos etc.

Now I'm busy writing up the show guide.

Never a dull moment in this game!

  8. A great show, I enjoyed exhibiting Burnham-on-Sea although a little overawed by the company around me.

Thank you very much the Farnham club  who all worked hard to make the show a success.

Speaking as an exhibitor all aspects of the show were well organised, the excellent road signage was commented on by my companions on the way in.

  10. Phew, what a scorcher.......!!

Well it's all over now and I think it's pretty safe to say we will do it all again in two years time. I would like to publically thank all the exhibitors, traders, demonstrators, stewards, tea and cake volunteers and not least the punters for contributing to what was a really great day. It made all the hard work leading up to the day worthwhile.

I'm really pleased with how the venue worked out. Despite it being the hottest day of the year it was never unbearable even mid morning when the place was very busy.

Thanks also for all the kind comments on here. I was very fortunate to be able to persuade some really top quality layouts and demonstrators to come along. I now have the problem of having to produce the difficult second album.

    Jerry

    Jerry,

Sorry to have missed this one.  I was exhibiting at the same show as Ed (Devil's Bridge).

Your next mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to equal this show in only two years time.

RM Web will not self destruct, I hope you don't in the attempt!

    John
