  1. I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but let's just say again the double-deck sheep wagons for the Highland - they go with the Jones Goods and they're different but not too different. Gordon
  2. Looks like there might be a reprieve: U-turn on rail ticket office closures expected - BBC News
  3. I messaged a couple of weeks ago and was told that they were only receiving the wheels in small batches and sending more locos out as soon as they got a new batch. I'm guessing I'm towards the end of the queue as I think I ordered just about the last one before they stopped being available on eBay.
  4. As much as I've been enjoying the series, and I have, I've missed having a foreign piece in each episode. I know Tim has said that budgets are shrinking but I hope they manage to put this back for the next series. Nonetheless thank you for some really enjoyable viewing. Gordon
  5. Can't help entirely Stephen but I doubt they were tethered, cattle don't usually have the necessary halters to give you something to tie on to and I certainly don't see anything to indicate this in pictures of cattle waiting in loading docks. If modern road transport is anything to go by you'd simply pack them in tight enough that they'd hold each other up and if there weren't enough to fill the wagon, then as you've already indicated you'd use a moveable bar or partition to provide the necessary support. Have to emphasise this is mostly educated guesswork based on no experience of moving cattle by train except what I've seen in photographs but some experience from the farm I grew up on.
  6. I believe the heritage operation closed before the line was restored to the national network. Dartmoor Railway goes into Administration Gordon
  7. Since the British Nationality Act of 1981 we are nearly all British citizens. The term subjects is now restricted to a small set of people.
  8. I see that Studio Canal have successfully registered the trade mark for The Titfield Thunderbolt. https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK00003743445
  9. Opening date announced: Crossrail: Elizabeth line due to open on 24 May - BBC News
  10. ORR report now issued: Rail regulator publishes Class 800 series safety report |
  11. What a good idea. Maybe they could start a series - Trains in cinema, perhaps?
  12. Interesting as all the other recent announcements from other companies have been, this is the sort of one I've been waiting for - Scottish pre-grouping. Thank you Rapido.
  13. That was a jury not a judge and if this went to court (which I seriously doubt) it would be heard by a judge.
  14. It's my understanding that the changes made were retrospective, so 70 years does apply. The Duration of Copyright and Rights in Performances Regulations 1995 (legislation.gov.uk)
