They are really nice! I'm in the area in late May, if they still have some stock I might treat myself!
-

sjrixon replied to MGR Hooper!'s topic in Oxford Rail
Thanks... Did you find a replacement motor? Sounds highly probable, I've just started reading back through this thread, certainly a story with this loco! -
just added a post to the Dean Goods thread. Mine appears to be sticking... Quite annoying..

Oxford Rail announces - OO gauge GWR Dean Goods

Can someone help? I've taken my Dean appart, the motor appears to be sticking. Even stripped back this far, sometimes I need to nudge the flywheel to start it running. Had been running fine.... -
As I've got older, I do feel that creativity shrinks.. I find it so much harder to imagine what something may or should look like. The kids however are so much more open minded...

The pigs really don't appear bothered as the train goes past... Starting to get a few small areas that are starting to look like a railway.

The work on the goods yard progressed nicely. The whole area has a covering now, fence and a hedge added. I feel the centre area needs to be a ligher shade, but now it's got a base colour, it's easier to start adding the details. Annoying... I glued the shed down, then realised the lights have stopped working!

Enjoyed that - Good to see one last train going past. Good luck with the new pod....

Mostly my Daughters work too!

I spend a productive evening with some quite bright air dry clay. This is the tried and tested method from Chris Neverad. In tried a small rolling pin a few time, but honestly nothing worked quite a well as just getting in with my hands and a little water. Trouble is, I need another packet now!

ebay..... It's really not a great place anymore. (if it ever was). Sorry to hear that the idiots on there are getting to you..

She used to be fine... I need to find the time to strip it right down and see what's going on.. Deluxe certainly make some good stuff..I love rocket glue.

Interesting that you found that much of a difference.. I did look at their stand, but I figured thin oil was thin oil.... Maybe next time I run out, I'll look again. Although my Dean Goods isn't running well, so maybe some different oil might help.

I'll echo the comments already in this thread.. However, based on previous information, there is nothing quite like seeing you start another layout! Looking forward to the new project....

My Derails pre-orders have generally arrived very promptly. Enjoying my last Rapido wagons with a pack of biscuits is really nice. All my recent orders have gone their way.

I'm glad it's not just me that thinks the rails marketing machine is a little keen! I've started to worry if my email isn't working if I don't get a mail from them each day ;)

GWR O11/15 Opens and V14/16 Vans - order book now open!
sjrixon replied to rapidoandy's topic in Rapido Trains
GWR Versions arrived this afternoon... I tried to remove one of the van roofs. It wouldn't move easily, but it clearly a separate part... -
Very smart.. I'll sit here at Reading waiting for it to arrive.. Which end is the driver? Or did you go for it and put someone in both ends?

The nicely lined mogul, now with plates and driver fitted, pauses at Oregon Jnt. Need to find some lamps... But I can't quite bring myself to sort out a better coal load yet...

I bought some white metal replacement buffers... Then you start to add up the costs, kit, buffers, new wheels, paint, varnish, time...... Give them a refresh once the new ones have arrived :)
