  1. That's the trouble...... They are going to make some of my other rakes looked dated.
  2. Can you share your CV notes here, so others can find them please.. Looks like mine is due shortly! :)
  3. Your second guess, the Hattons. I've the 4 and 6 wheel ones.
  4. Certainly do.. I used mine for 3 years, daily without issue. The advantage with the Dunster one I had, are the walls are insulated themselves, it's part of the design. That goes for the roof and floor too. I also followed their guidance in treating the wood with some very expensive wood preservative. No issues with opening and closing doors in those 3 years. I had an oil radiator on an Alexa controlled switch. Means I could flick it on an hour before I wanted to use the room, nice and snug, even during the snow. We then moved house - I still miss my garden room..
  5. Amazing news and good luck. I had a Dunster house warm log building in my last house. Split between railway and small office. Actually really nice building. Went together over a couple of days with the help of some friends, bribed with beer and a bbq!
  6. Did anyone express interest direct to Dapol on their direct only version? 2874. And if yes, did they acknowledge your interests?
  7. I disagree - I don't let time get in the way of realistic operation. There are actually quite a few nice articles that have been written about running to a sped up clock.
  8. This is me a lot of the time. I work full time, 2 youngish children, piles of DIY stacking up, so taking time for myself, away from a screen is really hard. I've started carving out small amounts of time. Rather than convincing myself that 20mins isn't enough time to finish, 20mins is more than enough time to get it started!
  9. That's looking really nice with the huge station there!
  10. Those settings look quite clear, as you say, odd that they say you can't, when you can. Youchoos are normally very knowledgeable. I'll have a play when I get a chance..
  11. Swiss mapping.... Thinking of cheese.. I'll do some googling.....
  12. Now it's actually got dark.. You are correct, they are on!
  13. Could you share your CV tweaks? - Mine arrived today YAY.. But yes, my internal lights don't work, but I guess they need to turn them up.
  14. Cheers Graham. It's really nice when not only did they enjoy what they were doing, but the output looks good! I need to try and convince them ballasting will be fun! Then we can work on some other bits.
  15. My kids were home for the last day of half term, so we finally found time to work on the scenery around the castle. I’ve salvaged some rocks from my old 009 layout, keen to make use of them, we cleaned the up a little more and, using a glue gun, attached them to the side of the tunnel section. Then we used some poly fibre (I think), not used before, to create some texture to it all. Layering spray and foliage was then built up. The top section was a base of 2mm grass, then 4mm and 6mm to build up the colours. My son really enjoyed the static grass process, I’d got him to watch a couple of videos first, so he was really excited to do it.
  16. Looking good.. But the video link doesn't work...
  17. Just seen the email too.. I'm out a couple of days next week, so I know when mine are due to arrive!
  18. Nice little review in Model Rail magazine this morning.....
  19. Thanks for posting the videos. It does sound good.. Looking forward to forward to having some fun with mine......
  20. That ship is really taking the long way around!
  21. They will have opened it to fit the sound. So should be a little easier as it's been done already..
  22. My stock storage had been bothering me a while.. A shelf had started collecting odds and ends as we switched things around. Not ideal for making sure expensive things don't get damaged. The other challenage was to be able to easily rotate out some of my sons trains to all Great Western. His Mallard and Teak coaches are taking up one fiddle yard road, I found when I wanted to run, I just ignored it, so I was missing one road in the fiddle yard. Much better to swap his coaches out with some more GWR.. I have some of the Warley stock boxes. But, as they are in a stack, you have to put them on the desk etc, it's all just a little bit too much like hard work when you only have 30mins to enjoy the railway.. I started looking at the WWScenic loco boxes when they came out. But then I realised they do a much large ‘coach’ version. Well why can’t I use that for all stock? And, the size looks like it will perfectly slide into the cupboard under my layout. They took a lot more building than I expected, over 4hrs to build the 2 and the draws. The last draws are waiting for the glue to dry. But space for locos, as well as coach stock. I just need a little foam to protect them and lables on the front.
  23. Always.. The joy of Pre-Orders, you can't plan holidays around them. They cleared 200 in just over a week. So that's great news. Mine in the final batch too.
  24. I had to Google postiche... That's looking really good!
