Bachmanns aren't bad, but they're not as smooth as Hornbys, but that takes the price up. I'm hoping to get the 4f so I'll comment on the smoothness of that.

Yeah, sometimes you can get lucky and get brilliant Bachmann motors but. It all depends on how much matinence you do to look after the motor. When are you going to get a 4f?. I tried to buy one at the exhibition but they all sold out within the hour, so I will need to hurry if I want one a a decent price.

Will, run a model with a Hornby ringfield motor... Then try and say Hornby have better motors. There jerky as hell! I have a 91, have to means the damn thing every 3 seconds to stop it from making the worlds most high pitched scream! If you dropped it it would run better! Bachmann, all my sheds run great, most of my 57 run well. (except 57010, that's just a little sod anyway) and my Hornby 67 draws loads of power from the track
