  1. For those who want to se some of the 'action' from the show Bob Masterman (our official videographer!) has put this up on Youtube.
  2. Thanks Mervyn, Bob had done a good job on the video yet again. His battery ran out just before he was going to film me, thankfully.
  3. Thanks Rob, great to see Sheep Lane again and I look forward to seeing Mutton again next year. Sadly I took no photos (too busy collecting money!). See you soon.
  4. 10 layouts have been set up tonight, and the tea bags and bacon has arrived on site! We await 4 more layouts early tomorrow morning plus our two traders, Lord & Butler and MIB Models. Not sure how the weather will turn out, it's forecast a few showers early on and warming up in the afternoon. I'm not sure whether fine weather is good for our attendance, or rain, or a mixture. You just never can tell how it will turn out on the day. We've postered local model shops, and given out 1000 fliers (compared to 500 last year), and it's been in the model press and on some local Facebook pages. So I hope we get a decent turnout of visitors to help swell the club's funds. Of the layouts that have set up so far there is some excellent quality there, in HO, OO, N and Hoe. There may be few noisy US and Canadian sound effects tomorrow. We've just put out a large number of books and DVDs next to the entry desk which are available for £1 each, (£2 0r £3 for the boxed sets). So come along and grab a bargain and see some great layouts on the day.

  6. Countdown is on, Show on Saturday, set up for exhibitors Friday 5-8pm and from 8 am Saturday. And below is just a visual reminder , I think we are now at 14 layouts. Please come along and say hello and have a good £3 worth of entertainment.
  7. The Show is only 6 days away now. All layouts confirmed ( just need to fit them all in). A few of the exhibitors were at the Port Talbot Show yesterday, but will be bringing different layouts to our show. The only one that was in port talbot was 79A a steam shed scene in the snow by John Gooding, and very nice it is too, with a very impressive working turntable at slow speed. Hope to see many RM Web members there. Tony
  8. Thankfully Ken I don't have to cook it! It's looking like a good show, all of our advertising leaflets have gone, apart from a few I'll be taking to the RCTS meeting on Wednesday . All the layouts booked have confirmed their attendance , I just to try and get it all to fit in. Almost all the layouts are different to last year's show, bar 2, and one of those has been in the model press (Forest Gate Parkway). I just hope we have a good attendance on the day. I wish I had more leaflets to put out, we had 500 last year and printed 1000 this year and they've all gone. And Cardiff City moved the game to a 7.45pm kick off for Sky so it'll be a long day.
  9. So that's the day after the 21 st for our Show. Hope to see you there, but if you can;'t make it just send the £3 in unmarked Postal Orders!!!!!
  10. I didn't get a chance to have a good look at Cardiff Baz, so look forward to having a bit of time away from the door to have a mooch around on the 21st. !4 layouts now for £3 entry, plus traders and demos seems good value. Tony
  11. Despite my earlier post stating there was little or no East Anglia photos there is a strong emphasis on the North East, which is an area I have found is often ignored in photographic books. I have both this book and the previous on eon Scotland and the picture quality is excellent and two of the best I've bought in recent years.
  12. First Generation Eastern & North Eastern Diesels In Colour by David Dunn and published by Book Law arrived today. Following on from the previous book on Scottish Diesels by the same author this book once again has superb colour photos of diesels over the two named regions. Almost all photos are of the green diesel period of 1960s, and some later, with the odd smattering of blue. The book takes a geographical journey, starting in the North East and ending in London, but does not appear to have any photos from East Anglia. The books is equally as good as the earlier Scottish themed book and I can only recommended as an avid reader (or looker at pictures!). Well worth the money. Tony
  13. American Coal has replaced Sugar Road for the Show, both are by Richard Flanngan. Forest Gate Parkway has replaced Wokinghurst. FGP is modern image privatisation layout. Below are 4 photos, one fo Pen Darren m the other 3 of Graham Mann's Forest Gate Parkway (as seen in the Model Press in last year).

  15. Yes Brian asked to have a look out for that one. Nice as it's in EM as opposed to OO. Is it a compliment or an insult to have your layout copied? Although it is slightly longer and has a couple of points on it.
  16. It actually means Funbderbirds Are Best! Maybe next year I could do a Thunderbirds themed layout? I bet you've got Tracy Island. Baz is right though , it means nothing. I bet he Googled it just like I just have.
  17. As the show is just 5 weeks today I attach photo of Brian Tucker's excellent Canadian Shed Scene Burrard Inlet.
  18. Just an update to say the Crossley Scrapyard is appearing instead of Shepcote Lane. Both are owned by Baz Jones of Western Valley MRS. A couple of photos below.
  19. Rob, I'm looking forward to seeing Sheep Lane again, only 5 weeks today! Tony
  20. Also making it's second outing is Brian Tucker's Canadian HO layout Burrard Inlet. Picture below.
  21. Just an update to say that Crossley Scrapyard has replace Shepcote Lane at our Show in April. Crossley is the latest Baz Jones masterpiece.
