Hello Everyone.

Thankyou for taking the time to reply.

I intend, would like, to build gauge 1 models for the garden.  We went to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagasaki and Hiroshima.  I have lots of videos and photos, the videos of which i will get around to editing into one whole film which i will post on my youtube channel.

I do not seek models, i seek plans/drawings ie elevation and end elevations of the streetcars so that i can scale and build a model.

Dear Folks,

having been to Japan and found the railways utterly amazing and enthralling I am keen to model the streetcars of Nagasaki but i cannot find ANYWHERE books with technical drawings/diagrams of the cars or anything on the internet... Yes there are lots of photos but i just cannot find any drawings or diagrams to help me model them.  Can anyone help PLEASE! 8)

Your friend is correct. There was a line called the New Florence Mine Tramway running from Florence Siding on the Devon and Somerset Railway to the Croborn  Mine and New Florence  Mine via North Molton. The traffic was principally Iron Ore although other metals were I believe found in smaller quantities. It lasted from 1873 until the mid 1880s. It was horse worked.

 

Historical detail is not only on the web, but also covered in the Devon and Somerset Railway books by Maggs and Huxtable and also in Railways around Exmoor

 

I have walked the route from South Molton to North Molton and not only is the formation quite visible but it is a very pleasant walk in itself. It is marked as a footpath. The start takes a bit of finding. I started on the North Devon Link Road at the junction near the site of South Molton Station. You take a farm track until you see the site of the siding and then the formation becomes clear.

 

It is also marked on the on line historical maps.

I know that you all have an amazing encyclopaedic knowledge of all things trains... I heard the other day from a friend, that there are rumours there used to be a narrow gauge railway or tramway at North Molton in Devon, serving a silver mine.  Is this true?  And do any of you have any more information or photos on it please!?

Cool, I’ve always had a soft spot for parcels vans, the brass handles and fittings are icing on the cake. :-)

Thanks very much!  Yes the SR parcels was a long time making to get right.  The windows were two layers of brass etch loctited together and then some thin clear plastic (profiterole container from Mand S) epoxied behind.  The brass fittings were individually filed to get them flat on the surface and on the surface of the handles where I could. It did take a long time fitting them as I had to pre drill the spot where they went; and the holes weren't always marked in the plastic.

Spray painted from a can, lettered and then satin varnish sprayed on top.

The roof, as were the sides and bottom, were each made of two pieces end butted and welded together.  The roof took many sandings after filling the slight discrepancy between the two halves. Several spray paint coats later... The new owner was amazed that it was two separate pieces.

I have a Bachmann Dynamis system and have just bought a Hornby TTS 40.  I am trying to reprogramme the tts decoder with a long address '4064' but no matter how I try I don't seem to be able to change the decoders address...  I'm going mad!
