Would anyone out there like to own Thorburn's?
It's time for my next project and rather than store the layout away I'd like to give it away to anyone who can come to Edinburgh and collect it.

Cheers Dave,
Haven't built anything for months now but it's still nice to take a few photos now and again when the light's good.

Having set out along a similar path quite some time ago I really would recommend building an Inglenook.
You only need a couple of turnouts and maybe 6" length in P4, depending on what wagons you want to shunt around and what size of turnouts you choose.
Although an inglenook doesn't need an fiddle yard to work, there's no reason not to have one.
My own P4 inglenook is called Thorburn's and has been an on-going although currently stalled project for a couple of years. Thinking about starting something else soon.
Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Scotland in the 90s - hard to beat in my opinion.

This is a great 'model of a railway' which I enjoyed very much at Glasgow.

Mark,
I've had one of those on Thorburn's for ages and can't bring myself to try to work out how to fit the AJs.
I'll be watching to see how you get on.

Great atmospheric shot Mike. Could I ask what you use to tie down the pipe load on the BDA. I intend to have a couple of loaded BDAs on my my next layout.

Cheers again Mal,
I just cut thin strips of Duck Tape (other brands are available) and painted them. They've started to go a bit loose now but nothing that can't be fixed.

Thanks John.
Not sure where I'm going with the next project. Priced up a JLTRT Class 08 this morning: All in it comes close to £500 so not sure it's going to be based around one of those!
Might have to be a P4 depot as I've got a 37 and a 56 waiting for conversion... It might even be based on this place.

Mal,
It was your own layout, Springburn Yard that convinced me to build something of this size in 4mm. I'd forgotten about that until I checked out your signature.

Thanks Mal.
Two points is more than enough in a small space. I think my next layout will have that number or fewer!
